Worth it
I got this set for about 25c per marker, which honestly feels like a steal. Over all, I think this set has one of the best ranges of color for dual tip markers. Especially for the price. I like the firmness of the brush tip. Firm, but not too firm. I only had one marker with a defect (pictured) and it did not impact the function of the marker. At this price point, it's not surprising that the markers are not numbered or named. The barrel color matching the marker color is hit or miss. A few of the colors are so similar, they are basically the same color. As long as you swatch your colors, I think you'll be fine. The packaging says they don't bleed, which seems pretty true for Bristol or 100lb paper. They will, however, tear your paper if you saturate the paper too much in one go. All things considered, I think this is a great set from Shuttle Art.

These Markers Are Fun To Experiment With! : D
Even if you have no talent whatsoever like me - you can still have a lot of creative fun using these markers. You don't have to be a pro to enjoy this set. These markers feature tons of vibrant colors that really pop on the page. There are even a few neon colors. With Brush pens there is a little bit of a learning curve for beginners, but they're fun to experiment with. Keep your sense of play about you as you experience what these markers can do. These pens cap nice & tight to preserve their ink so they won't dry out. I absolutely love the Adult Coloring Book that accompanies this set. It features appealing designs that offer something for everyone (mandalas, animals, seascapes, floral designs) & have plenty of detailed areas to fill in that will make the best of your markers. The biggest problem with this marker set is that the colors are not labeled or numbered & if you put them back in the case you may forget which color you used for what & where, or mix them up. Also some of the markers are kind of gushy & too much color comes out on the page. They say they don't bleed, but they do. Any surface residue can be cleaned up with isopropyl alcohol. Some reviews complain about duplicated colors, but I haven't found any exact matches. One fine tip got mistakenly duplicated, but that's it. The purpose of a large set like this is to give you a wide variety of subtly different colors. Put them together, add a little water, & they create a really cool & amazing watercolor effect. There are however a lot of marker caps that randomly misrepresent the actual color. The dark deeply saturated pastels can really throw off the effect you are trying to create if you're really looking for the cap color. One peach tone marker has a dry fine tip that differs from the actual brush color. For all these reasons together, I took off one Star. Keep in mind when the seller tells you that this set is good for doodling, journaling, and lettering - they mean it. If you really are a pro & you really want pens that will take your art to the next level, a more professional set of Brush Pens may better meet your needs. But if you are a beginner looking to experiment, explore, & unleash your creative side, this set is a good place to start. And for the price you get loads of vibrant colors to keep you engaged in your arts. Once you swatch them out, you'll see the difference between the colors. I have never used water-based Brush Pens before, & I was unaware of the watercolor effect. Just for fun I used a tiny paint brush & added a little water to a few doodles. The watercolor effect was unearthly & ethereal. The teals unexpectedly broke down into mellifluous blues & greens that reminded me of tie dyes. So use those "barely different shades" to layer colors in your water colors & move them around on the page. That's what they're made for. The less hard I "try to do art" & the less talent I display...the cooler & more groovy the watercolor effects have been. If you long for talent, but you love art supplies, like I do - you may create some really amazing things with this set. I recommended this Shuttle Arts set for beginners who want to experience Brush Pens just to experiment & see what they can do on the page. The fun factor is worth the price of the set. For less than the cost of a pizza delivery, you can create beauty & feel Like God The Day The Earth Was Made...

Great for Kids and Adults
I bought these for my 9 year old step-daughter and overall they've been some of the best markers we have tried. The colors are vibrant, bright, and accurate. For most paper types, the markers do not have any noticeable bleeding. However, on very thin paper they bleed slightly. The dual tip design essentially gives you two sets of markers. Both tips write clearly and cleanly. Being a nine-year old, she likes to color on things other than paper. I've been able to wash the markings off of walls and carpet without issue. Some markings on clothing I was unable to remove. If clothing is colored on, it may come off with a quick treatment of laundry stain remover. However, I didn’t find the marks on her clothing until it had been sitting for about 24 hours. I recommend these if you love coloring with your kids!

2000 markers in my stash and counting...
As the owner of over 2000 different pens and markers, I consider myself somewhat obsessed. I have everything: Copic, Letraset, Prismacolor, Kuretake, Shinhan, Sharpie, Spectrum Noir, Twin Touch, Le Plume, Marvy and everything in between. I have alcohol, water, gel, permanent, neon, fluorescent, even scented, if you can believe it. These markers completely surprised me and that never happens (I'm jaded). They go on as smooth as Prismacolors but are even juicier. I pulled these out of my mailbox ten minutes ago and I literally tried every single pen - not a dry one in the house. That has never happened before in the history of "ever". The brush tip end puts down the perfect amount of color for me and the fine point is exactly what I needed. I would like to take a moment and make something very clear: I did NOT get these free or discounted in any way. I paid the full Amazon price and would gladly do it again today. I am one of those people that see a review where someone got it free or discounted and I immediately stop the research and go on to the next product. Even if the customer doesn't out and out lie, they will still feel somewhat obligated to go much easier on the review than if they had spent their hard-earned money. It's just how it is. This set of 56 pens is a banging deal and the colors are vibrant, beautiful and different enough so you don't feel cheated. I got 56 markers for what I usually pay for just 5 Copics. Nice. I rarely write reviews - I have a handful that I've done out of a thousand items purchased. I know, I suck. But I am usually only inclined to write one if the product is crap or if the product rocks my world. These pens are pure rock star-gold.

Update: Yea! They are pastel colors!! BUT....
At the time I wrote my first impressions review I didn't realize these had no names and no numbers on them and that is a real pain for me. I took them and began swatching them and found that quite a few colors are so close to being the same color that it is more of a backup when one runs dry. It reduced the actual different colors from 56 to 46. That makes the cost of each one higher, but these are budget markers anyway. I don't really recommend them since they have so many that are almost the same color and no names/numbers. These are fine for anyone who just picks up a marker based on the cap color and uses them and doesn't mind when the color is not what they expected. I reduce my 4 star rating to 3 stars. I purchased the 56 pastel color set and and they just arrived so this is my quick first impressions. So many great reviews for them that I am sure I will not be disappointed with their performance and a few quick swipes with a several of them and I am happy. Down side, no color names, not even numbers, so I will have to number them myself and use maybe similar color names to Ohuhu markers. It is hard to find a budget maker set in pastels at all, so willing to put up with this inconvenience. The really frustrating thing though is they are packed tightly in the box and trying to get them back in again is quite difficult. The culprits are the caps. Each end cap (dual tips, bullet and brush) has a protrusion and when you insert a marker back into the box, all too often, the end of the cap hits the protrusion on the cap of a pen next to it and you have to figure out which pen it is being stopped by and twist it so as to get the marker back into the box. I am not sure what I will do in the way of a better option but I will want to come up with something. I hope they don't dry out before I get to all these lovely colors. I will use them in combination with colored pencils.

Good quality, nice colours
These markers are fantastic. Love the colours. Some are a bit brighter than I would consider a pastel but they’ll all nice. I’ve used them on regular printer paper and there’s little bleed through.
