Q: Will three of these light up a large room? (I have 3 lights currently, but cheap 20 dollar builder grade 'boob' lights)

Depends how big is your room, the day white is quite bright

Q: What brightness in watts will these lights be if I don't use the dimmer feature?

Q: Can they be used on covered porch

Unless the porch were completely enclosed -- as in a room -- I wouldn't. These can be used in mildly damp locations, laundry rooms, for example, but they are not for outdoor use.

Q: dimmer switch, do i have to have a dimmer switch or can i just us the on/off normal wall switch?

don't have dimmer switch here, we use the on/off switch to change the temperature of the light color (e.g. dim warm light, warm white & cool white)
