Super effective and very humane!
They work perfectly well! I bought 4, and every morning got 2 mice. It appeared to be more effective than sprays and other things. They were never injured, and it was very easy to release them. I used beanuts inside as a bait.

Caught a mouse on the first night
I have the green house looking trap for years, but it’s so expensive. After many years, the hinges weren’t working on them anymore to close the trap so I had to repurchase. I decided to try these as they are similar at a much better price (4 traps for the price of one of the green house looking traps). I put four pieces of cat food at the very back on the ledge and put it along the wall in a location that I suspected a mouse. Caught the mouse in one night. The only thing that I would note is that the door for release is really hard to open which is not ideal when you are trying to release quickly. Also, be sure to release more than one mile away or the mouse will likely come back. These are cleanable but it’s difficult to clean them well so I usually just throw it away and put out a new trap. I highly recommended this product.

They really work great.
Easy to set up. I am stationary in a fifth wheel. I was getting mice. I tried Everything to deter them from entering. I didn't want to kill the mice just get them out. I bought these traps, put some cereal in it and caught one right away. Caught another one next day. So I bought several traps for the drawers (empty) and under the sink Everytime I caught one is put it in a tall trash container with a lid, take it down the road to a field and let it go. They are easy to wash to use again. I would go months without a mouse then I would start getting them again. I bought several of these traps. Love them.

Similar to other humane mousetraps, but with 2 significant design flaws
I am revising my prior review because I was wrong. Previously I had thought they were single use because I could not get the doors to stay open so that they could be set for another mouse to enter. That has turned out not to be true.I still don't love this design (it is different than other similar humane mouse traps).1st, where you put the bait is actually separated from the mouse, so s/he cannot eat it whilst in the trap. That seems diabolical; you can smell the peanut butter, you can see the peanut butter, but you cannot actually eat the peanut butter if you are hungry and trapped.2nd, the hinge that closes the trap door is on the floor of the device rather than the ceiling of it, so when you clean it, you have to have the spring mechanism in water. When the spring is on the top, you can soak the trap in an inch or 2 of water, and not get the spring wet and therefore less likely to corrode.Having said all of that, it does reliably catch mice. Just make sure you check on them quickly so they're not in there starving and dying.

Good traps
Mice are pretty clever. Right now for whatever reason there are a lot of these super dinky mice. And although these traps are pretty sensitive the very small ones go in and eat and seem to not trigger the gate. I tried pushing down on the lever and i found i can push the the platform almost a 1/4” before it snaps shut. Nothing wrong with the quality though you can see that everything fits snug and made nicely. Its just the small mice need to walk near the bait holder cover. I tend to throw peanuts inside the trap itself to actually entice them to go in lol but maybe i need to stick some nuts in the small bait holder chamber so they go in farther. Otherwise check all your traps daily. Even though they are humane i have forgoten to check and after a day they will die inside. Some of my older traps they tried to chew through the air holes creating bigger holes but of course could never chew through all the plastic. I use a chopstick to push the gate down and they will run out of there quickly. Easy to wash and reuse. Anyways great trap.

MOUSE TORTURE CHAMBER. Also 2 out of 4 defective, all 4 hard to open
These things don't work right, as described below. I had to throw out 2 of the 4 because they were defective, and now I've discovered something even worse about them: Their doors catch the trapped mouse by the tail. Last night I put out my remaining 2 traps, and soon I heard sounds of struggle. Found a mouse in one with most of its tail trapped in the door. I was literally hanging in the air, because the trap's door had caught it by the base of the tail. I quickly took it outside and released it. This morning, I found another mouse in the trap who had had the last inch of its tail cut off by this cruel trap when it snapped off -- the little bit of tail was still in the door. It was pitiful. I think the maker put too strong a spring on the door, so it snaps shut with too much force. Whoever made things -- I hope an angry dog bites a chunk out of his butt! And on top of that, these things are hard to use, and 2 of them were so defective they were unusable.Had bought some similar mousetraps before, by maker Harris, and those worked fine. They were easy to use, and did not catch mice by the tail. These, by maker lllteri, looked just the same, so figured they were -- but NO. I bought 4. Two of them had something wrong with the little plastic tab that's on the end of the door at the mouse end of the trap. That door opens downward and is held open by the plastic tab on its end that tucks under another plastic bit inside the trap. The little "door" then forms a ramp that the mouse walks up. When the mouse reaches the top of the ramp his weight moves the plastic tab enough that it comes free from the thing holding it, and the door snaps shut behind the mouse. However, 2 out of 4 of these traps had tabs that were too short. One tab was so short that it simply did not reach the thing it's supposed to tuck behind, so it was impossible to I threw it away. Another one had a tab that just barely reaches. Sometimes this tab came loose just from the tiny jarring it gets when I set it downs. That leaves 2 traps out out of 4 whose mouse doors work properly. BUT all 4 of these traps had another problem: It is fairly hard to slide upen the end where you put in the bait. On the other brand the bait compartment slid out very easily -- you didn't even have to push it, you could turn the trap upside down and it would fall off. On these traps they stick. If you look at the illustration in the directions for use, you'll see 2 thumbs pressing firmly inward and upward on the bait holder, and that really is what you have to do. When you're loading in the bait, this is merely a nuisance. But when you've freeing a mouse that got caught in them, it's a real problem. The way you let the mouse out is to pull off the bait compartment, leaving that whole end open. If to pull open the bait door you have to face that end towards you and push hard with both hands, that means that when you free the mouse the trap is right in front of your face. I'm softhearted, and that's why I use these humane traps, but I do not want a freed mouse jumping out right onto my face!In short, this brand of trap seems like a badly made copy of the ones that work. Get another brand.I later found that other brands do the same thing -- catch the mouse's tail in the door. I think what causes these tail captures is that the door snaps shut too hard and fast after the mouse enters. The mouse isn't able to pull its tail free. I have modified my trap in a way that will spare the tails. It's possible that it will also allow the mouse to escape the trap, but I doubt it. My modification leaves the door a tiny bit open, and they might be able to grab the edge and pull it open fully -- but I don't think they have the intelligence or strength to do it. Here's how you make this trap humane. Get some tape -- I used duck tape. Cut a strip about 1/2 inch wide and 2 inches long, and roll it up into a little roll. Then take another strip of tape and use that to stick the roll in place on the inner roof of the trap right inside the door. This will keep the trap from closing fully and trapping the mouse's tail. I've included a photo of how it's done.

Very effective! Catches their tails though and is a pain to clean
Our mice have avoided us on every style of trap -until now! These definitely do the job and we caught mice every time we set them out for the first week. It’s slowed down now and I hope that’s because we’re catching them all!I have a few major complaints though. First of all, half the mice we have caught have had their tails caught in the trap door. A few it has even taken their tail partially off! It’d be a lot more humane to just kill the mouse quickly than make it suffer like that in my opinion. Design flaw that needs remedy. Second of all, the traps get tons of poop and pee in them and are just plain gross after one use. If you hate mouse poop, having a live stressed mouse pooping and peeing in the trap all night isn’t going to make your morning great. And where do you clean it? I definitely don’t want to clean it in any of the sinks! What I ended up doing is saving up the traps until all 4 were soiled and putting them in a bucket of bleach water outside for 10 mins and then rinsing in said bucket. I guess if you weren’t a germaphobe you’d just scrub them in the kitchen sink with the provided brush and be done with it but I can’t bring myself to scrub mouse poop into where I wash dishes.Overall though I’m tickled these worked as well as they did and am happy I purchased them.

Works Perfectly
I bought these in an effort to try to humanely get rid of mice in our garage. I have always felt terrible about using traps and would never use dangerous poison granules (when the mouse crawls off to die, if your cat, dog or other animal eats it, they will die horribly as well) and glue traps are very inhumane...anyway- I just felt bad killing them because they are just trying to survive like the rest of us but I needed them to survive elsewhere. So I baited all 4 with peanut butter and within 4 hours ALL 4 traps had caught a mouse. We took them about 3 miles away and turned them loose near a creek (so they could have a water source) and set all 4 again. The next morning we had caught 2 more. I left them set and put 2 in the house and left 2 in the garage...caught 2 more in the house within 2 days. I haven't caught anymore so I guess we got rid of all of them, at least for now. I'm going to leave them set. I appreciate that these won't snap shut on my dog or cat or snap across the toes of one of my kids should they accidently get to close. Its a little door that opens and closes. If you have ever used a live trap for a squirrel, raccoon, etc it works just like one of those traps where they have to step on a plate inside the trap that closes the door. It has air holes and they are escape proof. If you want to use these, you MUST check the traps often- at least daily. You don't want to try to be more humane by using these no kill traps only to have one starve to death because you didn't release it. I did not find these too difficult to clean, I just took the end off where you bait it and threw it in a bucket of soapy water and rinsed it with the hose. It did come with a small brush to clean it as well.I give it 5 stars! The mice would too if they could- yes, they are trapped but, they are alive when they are removed!
