Uncle Henry camp/scout knife
A great camp knife. reminds me of one of the knives I used in the mid 60s while part of the Boy Scout Club. Blades are sharp ready for service, can opener required some light grinding along the inside edge of the opener to improve cutting of a tin can, everything else proved to perform as the ones I used from the 50s and 60s during my adventures then.

It reminds me of my childhood
I love folding knives. Most of mine are Victorinox (and my favourite is a Case XX Slimline Trapper). I bought this Uncle Henry Scout because it is very much like the Cub Scout knife I had when I was a Cub Scout and a Webelos Scout. That knife, 50 years ago, had brown scales and a Cub Scout logo inset. This Uncle Henry has stag scales and no Cub Scout logo, but it's got the same blades: Knife, can opener, bottle opener, straight-blade screwdriver, and awl. It's not an especially high-quality knife like my Victorinox or Case ones, but it's pretty good quality and gives me some nice nostalgia.

Cool, but not what I ordered.
This is a good knife for the money, but it isn't what I ordered. I ordered the old style Uncle Henry, which is what was pictured, and they sent me the new style. It's a cool knife, and I'll keep it, but as a collector, I wanted the discontinued model they were advertising. As far as this new model goes, the stagalon handles look and even feel like antler. The blades and tools are good, fairly thick stainless. It comes with a sharp factory edge, but if you're going to use a knife you should sharpen it, because a factory edge is only good for a minute... The big drawback on this knife is that the bottle opener's tooth hangs up underneath the blade, meaning you'll break your thumbnail or you'll want to open the blade before opening the bottle opener. The blades are thick enough that they rub against each other too, meaning they'll be scratching each other every time you open or close them. It took a decent edge quickly. The spring is tight and the blade and tools all click open with satisfactory snaps. Did I mention it isn't what I ordered?

Solidly built and comforting to carry. A pocket knife for the using!
Just like my Dad's. I think of him every time I see it or use it. It's a knife from a time when everyone had one in their pocket and it was cool before Tacticool became a thing. Even kids had one an there was no one waiting at every opportunity to frown upon the fact, "He's got a knife!" As kids we used them responsibly or we got our butt handed to us and asked if we'd like seconds! It feels solid and substantial not to mention it instills a certain confidence knowing you're always prepared to open a bottle, a can, cut something, or scratch, pry, ream, or poke around with your awl. Thank you Lord for the days we lived in, Thank you dad for being a man, and thank you Schrade - Uncle Henry for having been there with us, and being with us still today.

Boys first knife, extremely happy.
Bought three of these for the oldest grandsons (10 and 9 yrs) Wanted them to have a first knife that they could keep for years, I think these will do. I had a KampKing when I was their age, this one seems so much better. The blades are firmly installed, reasonably sharp and have great springs. I was impressed with the can opener. A lot of these camping knives have a pretty blunt end on the can opener, not this one. Nice sharp point for puncturing the can. The large spear blade is the all around blade for every camping kid ever, and this one has the heft and look of a quality knife. Uncle Henry has always been a favorite maker of mine, still is. I was skeptical when I saw this knife for less than twenty dollars, as I have paid more than that for lesser knives years ago. I think when one of those boys loses their knife, (I'm sure one of them will) I'll be replacing it with this same one.
