Awesome product that opens cans without leaving sharp edges that could cause cuts. It took a little bit of figuring out before I got the hang of starting the opener but once I figured it out, it works great. It is easy to use, opens the cans on the first try, and, so far, no problems.

I love it ... when it works! Cuts are clean. However, more than half the time, it doesn't work. Have only used it on 14.5 oz cans but often then have to use a regular can opener to get it open. Instructions that came with unit says that the lid may not come off easily due to a vacuum and to use the bottle opener feature to break that seal. I've tried that but that isn't the issue.June 1 update: I did not return this item for refund becaue I liked the item it even if not perfect. But the seller contacted me based on my review and has been very customer orientated to deal with my issues. Based on that, I updated to 5 star. Update #2: seller sent me a replacement and it works great.

It is because of this that I will never buy a can opener from Wal-Mart again. This will cut the bead on the outside of the can, eliminating the sharp edges of conventional openers we have all come to know and detest. After the can is opened, the lid can also be used to cover the contents simply by placing it back on top. It won't be sealed, but perhaps will still be good tomorrow. Works equally well for large or small cans, so even for family-sized portions it is safe to use. I have friends that use this for pet food, saving half of the contents for use later. Very simple and easy to use. The safety of the "no sharp edges'" design makes this a must-have for any kitchen, especially for little hands. Don't settle for anything less when something like this is better in every way.

Easy to use no sharp edges

I used to have an OXO brand can opener and it was good until it broke. We got a replacement from an off-brand company and despite multiple attempts, it never worked right and always left metal slivers on the edges, which are hazardous to fingers, but deadly to a digestion system.I found this opener and thought I’d give it a try and I’m SO GLAD I DID! This opener is not just easy to use, but the can edges are absolutely smooth and the top just pulls off with your fingers after opening it. I spent a little time reading the comments on some manual can openers, and a battery operated one, before choosing this one. I looked at the reviews of openers I've owned before, Kitchen Aid, Good Grips/OXO. When I read the comments on this one and how many people were extremely happy about it, I thought I'd give it a try. Ordered it, it was here the next day (yesterday). Today I decided to give it a try today and opened a can of olives. Super easy to use; smooth edge of the lid, (which you can put back on top of the can and store in the fridge), it takes no strength to use at all, easiest can opener I've ever had. Wow! So glad I made this one mine! Love it after one can! Order it, don't spend any time thinking and wondering about others, this is the one to get. I don't usually review, but this one deserves my time. Get it! (I've never owned an electric one and don't want more stuff on my counter so manual is my go to). Oh, and it's not big or bulky so you can easily store in a drawer. There is no can opener that I like less than this can opener. I find it difficult to use. There is no indication to me that I’ve placed it correctly on the can. My 71 yr old hands hurt by the time the can is opened. It takes going around the can 2-3 times before the can is open. I’m going to find another can opener and give this one away or just toss it in the trash.
