Authentic Chinese hot pot soup base seasoning 7.05 oz (200g), Haorenjia Sichuan hotpot broth sauce spicy

As advertised, it is spicy. One packet (4 units) was good for hot pot for 3-4 people. Note that it contains Sichuan hot pepper oil (I think) so you may feel the characteristic mouth & lip tingling for a few mins. Nothing severe for Asians. I felt that it needed some added salt or soy sauce to balance the spicy heat. I'll order again.

Spicy, the fatty oil will stick to everything it touches so beware. absolutely will purchase again, but it's SPICY, real Hot Pot flavor. we used all 4 blocks for one hot pot night.

Good stuff. But man only use one. I did two in a big pot because I couldn’t taste the heat at first BIIIIIGGG mistake lol. Otherwise very good. Good heat, good flavor

These are REALLY good. I haven’t had hotpot in over a decade but this reminds me exactly like my summer in Beijing. I thought I would have to add other items to get the flavor I wanted but when I tasted it at first it was perfect. Mixed it with broth like it suggested and we were ready to go. Hunting for other flavors

Honestly, I purchased this because my usual brand of hot pot base was unavailable, but I’m really happy that I did. This is delicious! I love the amount of spice that this has and a nice bold flavor!

I lived in Chengdu for two years and met my now-husband there when he was an expat. We LOVED hotpot and had it all over Sichuan. This is delicious, but it is definitely spicier than anything I ever had in China. I used two packs of vegetable broth and it was still so overwhelmingly spicy I could only eat half of the veggies I cooked. My husband powered through, but he felt the same way I did. It ended up not being enjoyable after a few bites. I think I would quarter the block or use a lot more broth next time to get the spice level to what I was used to. We added Asian cabbage, tofu skin, lotus root, potato, broccoli, cauliflower, bamboo shoots, rice dumplings, and mushrooms. The first few bites were like being back at my favorite restaurant outside the school I taught at, but then it became unbearable. Either my taste buds have changed, or this is just outrageously spicy. Either way, I’ll get it and make it again, I will just be using less per pot!

I wanted to love it and it smelled just like the hot pot restaurant but the numbing sensation was so intense it was hard to enjoy it past the first couple bites.

This Sichuan hot pot soup base tastes very authentic and full of flavour. The spice level is perfect and has that classic Szechuan kick without being overwhelming. It’s easy to prepare and creates a rich, aromatic broth that’s great with meat, seafood, and vegetables. Definitely feels like proper Chinese hot pot at home. Would happily buy again! 🌶️🍲
