Laguna PF1000 13W Pressure Flo Filter

I bought a house with a koi pond, I had no idea how maintain it so I spent two years trying to figure out how to get the water to look crystal clear and nothing worked - I was ready to give up on it so basically this filter was my last hope. When I installed it the water was thick green full of algae and dirt, in three days of having the full filtration on I could already see my fish and about a foot in the water - within two weeks my water was crystal clear and now is pride and joy of my background. This product is absolutely amazing, I had to write a review and tell my story! Oh and the backwash OMG super. Easy, takes me 5 minutes. A must buy!!!!! Buy it, buy it, buy it!!!!

This is a great pressure filter. I am glad I spent the money versus one of the cheaper ones which have very mixed reviews and seem to suffer with a lot of leaking problems. So far after a couple of weeks it is working fine and zero leaking. My only recommendation would be to put a shut off valve on the backwash outlet versus having to change the cap for the hose fitting. I just installed a valve at the end of the hose and can leave it on permanent.Spend the extra money on this filter. You will not regret it.

I am 82 years old and am past the point of ordering anything I have to assemble. When I got this it was in two main parts with many smaller parts that have to be assembled. Unfortunately, the "o" ring to attach the uv unit to the main unit was either missing or I did not see it. Water, water everywhere and not a drop to drink!

Installed in a 500 gal aquaponics system attached to a 500 GPH Pondmaster mag drive pump . Had a massive algae bloom occurring and it cleared it up in less than a week. Backwashing is fairly simple, but didn't really see much waste with only two months use. Likely would have given it 5 stars, but the 10,000 hour UV bulb died in two months. Will update review at a later time, after I see how the seals and plastic components survive under desert conditions...

The nozzles that come with it are not compatible with 1 1/2 “ tubing. I get constant leaking at the hose nozzles. I bought the 4000 model. You should always run 1 1/2” piping for a unit this size yet the nozzles are poorly designed to accommodate 1 1/2”.

Leaked from the directional valve like 5 drops per minute. Nothing I could do it stop it. For 300+ dollars one would think you could get a filter that was water tight. FAIL FLUVAL.

-Using this on a 5000 gallon pond, medium Fish load, and a lot of water plants, the water is perfectly clear, I'm planing on adding some rocks and other elements to decrease the Gallon amount.-Using a Tetra Pond's 4000gph pump as well.conclusion: I recommend this product.-Cons: the product does't seems strong and durable, I'm handling it with care...

This unit works with a separate pump, but has a built in UV light. Within a week, my water was crystal clear! Special thanks to Countryfishgirl for handling a shipping related issue like a true professional!

I decide to do a waterfall pond, then about a few weeks later my wife said, she wants fish in the pond. Well, I knew nothing about the fish part and filters. After building the pond and just using a pump, everything was great. Then she wanted fish well after two weeks the pond was green because I had no filter, as I wasn't planning on fish. After researching filters I came across this one. I had no idea what I was doing but this had a lot of good reviews. After the first day of after setting this up which was easy and I like easy "you have to run it 24 hours before putting the uv light on", I didn't notice much. It took about 4 days to start seeing crystal clear water. I back washed it for the first time and it was easy and fast, no mess. I've had this for about 2 weeks now and this is one amazing filtration. My wife thinks I'm a super star. Fingers crossed. The connections were easy. This is a great product. Hopefully I'm not jumping the gun and saying all these great things and it breaks and then I have to write a nasty review.

Works well but brushes quickly snapped off the interior canister so I must totally disassemble for any sort of cleaning. Sort of annoying.

Just got this filter up and running and I am super-impressed. It took me a little bit to figure out the instructions and get it working because I am a wee bit technologically challenged. Once I got the hoses connected there was some small leaks around the fittings, however, a bit of teflon tape took care of any leaks. Together with the Laguna Max-Flo 2400 pump my pond is sparkling clean and any debris is handled very quickly. I haven't had the need to use the backwash feature yet.
