Quality, inexpensive bar clamp
I have about 3 sets of these clamps. They work well for what they're made for. I like them because you can just screw them onto a piece of pipe and make whatever length you need. I have a pipe die though, so that would be easier for me than some others. You could still buy threaded pipe at the needed length. They do very well for my applications.

Inexpensive way to make a big clamp!
I paired this with a galvanized 6’ pipe from big box store to square up a gate I was building. Worked great with one minor exception which is that the face of the clamps are smooth. Smooth faces do make sense for fine woodworking and such but a pad or grooved style face model would have been better for my particular usage but overall the clamp still worked great.

Still high quality after 90 years
There is a prominent claim on YouTube of poor manufacturing of this model 50 3/4" Pony's clamp threads, made in China, to specs by Pony Jorgensen in Saddle Brook New Jersey. It comes on after the two informative YouTubes on the current Model 50 and Model 55 produced by Pony / Jorgensen. I checked the threads in my machine shop. The threads are clean and well made, unlike the ones photographed in the YouTube scam slam.. The clamps work just as well as my Pony Jorgensen clamps. Perhaps that reviewer received a cheap knock-off, or a bad batch. That review made me nervous, but these look good and work well. A classic great tool with numerous applications.

Perfect clamps for home woodworking projects.
These clamps are great for a medium-scale woodworking project (in our case a table). They are a snap to install on the pipes purchased from the local big box store. The only difficult part was screwing on the retaining rings. I tore my fingers up a bit getting those on the pipe. Otherwise, these clamps do exactly what we need them to do. The screw mechanism is smooth and fluid and the sliding clamps work perfectly. You can never have enough clamps. Buy these for your next project.

Jorgensen vs. Bessey
I bought a six foot 3/4 inch pipe at the hardware store. It was threaded on both ends, so I figured that I would cut it in the middle and put pipe clamps on each end. The reviews for both the Bessey BPC-34 and the Jorgensen 50 Pony clamp were good, so I bought one of each.Jorgensen 50 Pony clamp* Pros: Heavier duty screw, tighter clearance between clamp and pipe, heavier duty tail stop, heavier-duty design overallBessey BPC-34* Pros: Slightly lower cost, plastic clamp covers, slightly better foot design* Cons: Finish is adequate, but a bit roughI believe that the Jorgensen clamp is better built and offers better value. If possible, it would be nice to see some of the design elements of the Bessey included in this clamp and even better finish, although between the two I prefer the Jorgensen and believe that it offers better value.

Unchanged for a reason
It's pretty simple really. Pony has made these clamps before I ever started woodworking in Jr. high school, and I see no changes in their design since then. If you clamping a project even remotely important, buy 4 of these clamps. I usually buy 4 foot black pipes to go with them, but that depends on what your needs are. Nothing is more useless to me than too short a clamp, and nothing quite as cumbersome as too long a clamp, so decide what your needs are before you buy. These are simple to put together and work every single time. Unfortunately, I recently bought a competitors set of clamps that were very high quality made, but the design was nearly useless for me in the shop. The clamp head would slip off because this design was not threaded. No big deal? Try working with them during glue up! So then the choice was clear. Just order the right clamps from Amazon and be done. These will last and perform as long as you need them.

Time tested and reliable
I've been using these clamps for over 50+ years and they are still my go-to clamp for metal and wood projects. Recently picked up another 10 to go with the 50 or so I already had. Price of black and galvanized pipe is going up, but the simple versatility of these clamps makes it easy to make reasonably priced clamps of whatever length I need from 1 foot to 20 foot.

Can't go wrong
I purchased the Expedit line of furniture from Ikea. These are tall, thin bookshelves-18 inches wide by 72 inches tall. The instructions insist that the unit be bolted to the wall to prevent tipping over. This is not possible in my circumstance, and I think it a bad design principle. It would require sheetrock anchors and a lot of bother. In addition to these clamps, I purchased a 5 foot (60 inch) 3/4ths inch galvanized steel threaded pipe from my local big-box store for about $14. These clamps, plus the pipe yield a 5 foot long device that holds all 3 bookshelves together as a single unit. It will take 3 times the effort to tip over a bookshelf now. If I add a 4th bookshelf, I need only get a longer pipe. When I move out of this location, I do not have to unbolt the shelves from the wall, just unclamp them and let the movers take them. At my new home, just put them side-by-side again, and reclamp them into a single unit. It makes for very portable but also very secure furnishings.
