I purchased these key rings to make homemade key rings (with chain and pendants). My initial thought opening the package is that THESE ARE SMALL!! But that is exactly what I wanted for the project I was working on, so it worked out perfectly for me. :) I just didn't expect them to be *quite so small.* However, I was pleased with this, so it worked perfectly for my needs. I am not deducting an overall star for this (just on the "easy to use" category); however, the key rings were very difficult to pry open by hand. I was only stringing link rings to connect the chain to (not onto keys), but I am certain stringing keys onto them would present the same level of difficulty. If these are to be used for key rings, be at the ready with the appropriate tools to pry them apart without using your fingers or nails. In my opinion, these would best be used for a purchase where they are not going to be opened frequently (and will keep your keys safe for decades, I'm sure). Overall, I am beyond pleased with how my project turned out, and the smaller size worked incredibly well for me. Please see photo with ruler for size reference (the pendant/button is between 16-19 mm, which is about 3/4 of an inch). I would absolutely purchase again, as these are a quality item (even with the difficulty I experienced prying them open).

I'll keep this short and sweet. I'm SUPER picky about my things and value QUALITY. These are NOT every other El Cheapo split ring available on Amazon with the snaggy sharp cut ends. DGOL split rings are: STURDY Sanded SMOOTH ends. ZERO jagged edges DOWNSIDES: So strong they are slightly hard to open

For my intended purpose, these were way too strong, I could not get them opened enough to add to my project. Good size for small projects, very strong and I don’t have a tool to open and my fingers just aren’t strong enough any more. They will be added to my collection of stuff because they will come in handy for something else one day. Definitely good quality.

Truth: this is a heavy duty key ring. I think only the top 1% of people can actually attach the 1/2 inch ones with only their fingernails. Please understand that you'll probably need to use some sort of plastic card as I have pictured here. I think I can use these for multiple different uses due to their strength and rigidity.

I used these the attach my dogs doggy door tag to their collar. These are a bit tough to open up and get around anything but other than that, they work just like you would expect. Feels like good quality too so no complaints there.

These do what they are supposed to do...but be aware that once they have been "sprung" open to slide a key in there, they only close back about 70% of the way. So they won't be nice and snug ever again. The slightly-open end can then catch on stray threads in your pocket, etc. I returned these since that was gonna bother me. A larger-diameter keyring can have more functional elasticity, so they can spring back into tight shape.

Do not buy these. They are simultaneously the weakest and strongest split rings ever. They are nearly impossible to open, but once you do manage get something onto them they have stretched out and don't stay closed. I bought them to use for my dog's nametags, they severely scratched the surface of the tags trying to get the tags onto them, then stretched out beyond being usable when I tried to put it on the collar. So now my dog's tags and the split rings are ruined.
