I have a smaller 5 gal aquarium I was planning to set up for two male bettas. I haven't got the bettas yet, they are due to arrive this Tuesday. But so I have a glo fish, 2 ghost shrimp, 2 algae eaters, 2 snails and a couple of aquatic plants. This product has been great at keeping firmly stationary in the center of my tank. I had to do some cutting to modify it to fit, but it was not difficult to do at all. I have a small gap at the top of one end of the divider, but so far it has been great at keeping the glo fish and the ghost shrimp on their prospective sides of the tank. The snails and algae eaters have been able to sneak back and forth to each side of the tank which I have no issues with. I have read some of the others reviews about using this for bettas, so I am a little leery how well my two bettas will do once they are let loose in this aquarium. I am hoping they will not be over stressed with being able to see through the divider. But just in case, tomorrow I am heading to purchase a 25 gal aquarium I had already planned to purchase. So if they get to stressed, I will just move them to the larger aquarium and use this or another like product to separate them.

It was a pain to install, but once it was installed, it seemed to work okay.... for about 3 months... then it began to DISINTIGRATE!!! Big tears and holes seemed to appear overnight! I had to scramble to order a clear plastic divider (next day delivery!) Before I had dead fish!! It's definitely NOT worth the money OR the time it takes to struggle with the install!!

I have a 55 gallon tank with a 3-D 1/4" rock background. We have an Oscar on 2/3 of the tank and guppies, shrimp, and tetras on the other 1/3. This divider is sturdy enough (it is a plastic material NOT mesh) to hold back our hungry oscar, while still allowing flow from one side of the tank to the other. We have an external canister filter, so our input on one end of the tank and our output on the other. I haven't noticed any build up of debris on the divider. I was afraid our 3-d rock background would cause an issue, but the divider just bows a little in the middle which is fine. The only issue is that it could've been just a few inches taller. Luckily we have a lot of sediment so that it can fill in the gap at the bottom. I just have to watch my fish and make sure they don't burrow under it. I do wish that is wasn't bright blue.... We strive to make our tank very natural. We have aragonite sand, mopani driftwood, live plants, and a 3-d rock background, so the bright blue tank divider kind of takes away from that. Overall, a great buy for the price!

I got this for my 20 gallon long aquarium when I got my second axolotl. I already have a juvenile axolotl and the size difference was drastic from the new one. I bought the divider to separate my tank until they are the same size. It fits perfectly, I didn’t have to cut it. It was very easy to install and neither axolotl can cross it. It is very sturdy and I didn’t have a problem getting it straight after being rolled in the box. I have my water level high and the divider still is above the water; it goes right up to the black rim of the aquarium where the cover sits, so neither of them can jump over it. The only con I’ve realized is the water flow isn’t as good as the other reviews have said, so I am getting another small filter to put on the other side of the divider. Otherwise, I don’t mind the appearance of the metal hooks outside the tank because it’s doing it’s job. I highly recommend this divider for separating any fish, just keep in mind you may need extra filtration, but it’s only $10 for a small 1-4 gallon filter. Definitely worth the buy!

Bought this product to keep two bettas apart. It was kind of difficult to install and it kept rolling up. We finally get it in and it seems to be working. A few hours later both fish are on the same side. Separate them and make sure it’s a snug. While I’m standing there I see one squeeze through the side. We kept fiddling with it but they always found a way around, over and under it. Just ended up getting another smaller tank instead. Cant return it since we cut it to fit.

For a custom fit, this divider was easy to trim with an X-ACTO knife. It kept the small fry tetras safe from the full grown aggressive tetras. The clip fit easily over the edge of the tank and did a great job in keeping the fish separated. Only drawback was that the plastic divider screen came rolled up and it wanted to stay that way. Once the screen was inserted into the frame, the warp was pretty minimal so it wasn't a big deal. This divider does the job and the price is reasonable.

Pretty straight-forward.

I just recieved this item and put it together very easy. I am using it to seperate two different types of baby cichlids in my 55 gallon tank. This product does not even touch the walls on side of the tank. The babies can still make it by both sides of the so called seperater. I would not recommend this product to anyone. I think that it should be taken off the market and this company should be taken to court for false advertisement! The only thing this is going to stop from getting to the other side pf your tank is the fish fecies that gets caught on the center of it. DON'T WASTE OR TIME WAITING FOR THIS PRODUCT TO COME IN THE MAIL...BETTER YET DON"T WAIST YOUR MONEY BUYING IT!

If your aquarium has a filter that is placed under the cover and above the water level, this will not work. This separator uses hooks that need to hang on the rim of the walls of the aquarium. Also, the separator is too small so be mindful of the design and size. Too expensive for what it offers.

I purchased the 29-55 gallon for my brand new 20 gallon tank, I am so happy I purchased the bigger one for my tank!! it fits perfect width wise but was a bit too long. I ended up cutting the blue plastic pieces with a jigsaw to fit my tank. My fish tank is 24 inches long, 12 inches wide and 16 inches high.

J’ai un aquarium de 10 gallons et malgré les commentaires négatifs j’ai décidé de commander le séparateur. Puisqu’il n’était bien sûr pas fait pour un aquarium de 10 gallon je l’ai coupé sur la largeur et j’ai également scié les supports du haut et du bas d’environ 1 pouce. Ça a pris quelques essais pour bien l’installer correctement mais ça tient très bien, même en retirant les attaches de métal (pour que le couvert ferme bien). Je trouve le résultat très esthétique et mon betta agressif est maintenant bien séparé de mes guppies. Je recommande!
