Class leading product but watch out for the subscription cost!
Norton AntiVirus is a standout product in the realm of cybersecurity, offering a robust and comprehensive defense against a myriad of online threats. Renowned for its reliability and effectiveness, Norton AntiVirus has solidified its position as a go-to choice for most home users for both computers and mobile devices seeking top-notch protection for their digital assets. One of the most striking features of Norton AntiVirus is its user-friendly interface. From the moment you install the software, it is evident that user experience is a top priority. The dashboard is clean, intuitive, and easy to navigate, making it accessible even for those who are not particularly tech-savvy. Important features and functions are clearly labeled and easily accessible, allowing users to quickly run scans, update their software, and manage settings with minimal effort. This streamlined interface ensures that protecting your computer from viruses, malware, and other online threats is a hassle-free experience. Norton AntiVirus excels in providing comprehensive protection. It offers real-time threat detection, robust firewall protection, and advanced phishing protection, all of which work together seamlessly to safeguard your system. The software also includes additional features like a password manager, secure VPN, and parental controls, adding significant value to the overall package. Regular updates ensure that your protection is always up-to-date, addressing new and emerging threats as they arise. However, it is important to note that while the initial purchase price of Norton AntiVirus may be quite reasonable, the renewal cost after one year can be significantly higher. For many users, this renewal fee can feel astronomically expensive. It is crucial for users to be aware of this potential cost and to plan accordingly. Norton typically auto-renews subscriptions, so if you decide not to continue with their services, it is essential to cancel your subscription before the renewal date to avoid unexpected charges.

Fully Featured/ Great value (here)
If you want a dedicated Anti-Virus solution then you can't do much better than this. I can only assume that it's doing a great job as (fingers crossed) my machine stays clean. And at this price on Amazon, for 10 licences, you can't go wrong. It's a fraction of what Norton will want to charge you to renew. So, on that point, as this requires you to add your payment card to your Norton account for automatic renewal, I would suggest that after installation, go straight back into your account and remove the automatic renewal and come back to Amazon in a years time and repeat the process. For the few extra minutes it takes you'll make a saving of approx. 60% So to the product - I like it because whether running it on Windows 10 or 11, my Android phone or Mac it doesn't slow down or interfere at all (unlike some other brands I could mention!). It has some handy features like VPN (especially good for mobile devices) and parental control if required as well as 75GB of cloud storage which is fine if you're intending to renew each year. Of course, this is why it's provided - to build a dependency so don't use if if you don't need it. Register several different email addresses and Norton will let you know if they've been compromised (Dark Web Monitoring). My BIGGEST niggle though is the constant pop-ups with various notifications and suggestions. This may be OK for some but it grates on me like mad. I hate pop-ups! And even if you select "don't notify me again", it does. I think Norton think they're being helpful. IMO they're not!

Cheaper than buying direct from Norton
Great package deal. Much cheaper than using the Norton site to renew!

Aggressive advertising and high renewal costs
So compared to the early 2000's when Norton Antivirus was such a system hog it made all but the most powerful computers grind to a halt, Symantec does appear to have turned this around with Norton 360. Initially I was impressed with the relatively low overhead and features, also in the knowledge that Norton 360 consistently scores highly with most AV tests. However, there is definitely some questionable business practices going on which has ultimately forced me to uninstall the software and look elsewhere: - For starters you need to register a Credit Card to install the product, at which point auto-renewal is automatically activated. Make sure you cancel this straightaway because even though you might buy your Norton 360 Premium for 5 devices for about £20, the autorenewal will set you back the best part of £100 for a year. Cancellation of auto renewal was also trickier than expected with constant attempts to sway me to stay by offering an extra 90 days protection. - I soon became very bothered with the amount of ads and popups from Norton 360 itself, trying to convince me to buy Norton Utilities. It does this by popping up a dialog saying that your computer needed a scan, it would then say you have x number of things making your computer run slowly etc. but when you click 'Fix' it, it would then try to get you to purchase Norton Utilities. Even if you click "Don't show again" it keeps coming back. I had to delve into the settings to turn off some of this stuff but really it shouldn't be doing it in the first place! - Norton Life lock seems useful on the front of it but it asks for a lot of additional personal information such as NI number, bank details etc. so they can alert you if your details are being used on the Dark Web. I chose not to provide that though. What a lot of users don't realise is that your details end up on the Dark Web when a site you have signed up for in the past has been compromised. You have to ask yourself what happens if Norton gets compromised when they have all your personal details and not just your email and password! My initial positive experience of Norton 360 was ultimately marred by the overly intrusive behaviour of the software. I like my AV to sit in the background and protect me when I need it. This overly aggressive advertising and other questionable functionality has lead to me uninstall the product and never look at Norton again.

Good but activation is uneccesarily painful.
The suite itself is 4.5 stars. It's amongst the best packages available for antivirus and other protections. It installs easily, updates quietly and while some of the popups can be intrusive, it's no worse than its competitors. I've given it 3 starts on the basis that it insists on payment details to activate in the hope you forget about it and automatically renew at well over £100. This is not respectful to the customer. It's easy enough to delete your payment details right after but it shouldn't be necessary when you have a valid key. If you can put up with that you'll find a reliable security suite. You can add and remove devices as you need as long as you don't exceed the 10 device limit.
