(S.T.A.R.S.)Welcome to Racoon City borrows the Police Station, Claire Redfield, and Leon Kennedy from Resident Evil 2 (RE2).There is only the use of the police station as a meeting point. There is none of the police station story from RE2, in Welcome to Racoon City.Claire Redfield is introduced at the start of Welcome to Racoon City. Whereas in the games she is introduced at the start of RE2.The rest of the movie was based on the first game Resident Evil, and the mansion.There were moments straight out of the games. E.g. in RE there is a moment when they come across a zombie 'with' a victim. That is lifted straight into the movie - I was wide eyed watching, thinking wow. The atmosphere and feel of the games was created perfectly.The feeling of the games was throughout the film once the story got right on with the plot. I was gripped, also wondering what was going to come next from the games. The feeling of the games being so faithfully created as mentioend above, made The Walking Dead feel like a holiday camp.There4 was however a backstory to Claire and Chis Refield in Welcome to Racoon City. This took up time and made the feeling where the movie started, take too long. At 45 minutes I was thinking it was going slow, it felt like thirty minutes of build up. It was still entertaining, and once the movie really got going, it didn't matter.It's possible that fans of the games might find it not quite right, due to differences mentioned. However I am a fan of the games and I loved it. Did I regret paying £7 for it - not one bit?It's likely this movie got review bobmed for inclusivity, over the Leon kennedy and Jill Valentine actors. Sad but that's where we are. ............. I think the inclusivity added a dynamic.

No spoilers.First thing to understand is this is a reboot, and is not connected in any way to the film series or Netflix series.If you played the original games, this film will feel very familiar. The characters are dressed the same and some of the locations are taken directly from the game.It also includes a load of Easter eggs from the games, including objects (typewriter, which was used as a save point in the game) and recreating the video sequences from the game.This was clearly created by a fan, who wanted to stay close to the original source material. But we have to remember that the source material was a game, so it not an amazing story.This movie was based on the first 2 games, to reboot the film series, leaving more source material from the later games for any future sequels.It is good enough as a stand alone movie and would rate around 3.5 stars, so I have rounded it up to 4 stars.Note: At this stage I prefer the original film series, despite the nostalgia in the reboot.The original film series was not as close to the source material, but still included the main characters and iconic monsters.The original film series was panned by critics and loved by fans. The story was completed. But there was space for a TV series or additional movies in the same timelines. Possibly as prequel or in-between and around the films, possibly using some of the film footage or outtakes to tie in to the films.

A decent attempt at a more faithful Resident Evil film. The settings all look great and quite recognisble from the games but a lot of the roles are terribly miscast.For the price I'd paid though I can't complain.

Been a fan of resident evil since the 1st game on PS1 and this film does follow the first 2 games to a point. It's an enjoyable movie you can just put on.

I'm a resident evil veteran and this movie is pure fan service, it's fun if you don't expect too much! Package arrived new in perfect condition, disc immaculate as expected. Delivery was very fast, especially since it came from Deutschland. Top marks 😁

I thought this Resident Evil film wouldn't be that good but I was pleasantly surprised how good it is. Maybe not as much action in it has the earlier films have but it's good anyway.

This is easily the best live action Resident Evil movies, though Though Resident Evil was quite good also in my opinon as it was the only film in the other film series that was anything like the source material (games).This movie covers the events of the games resident Evil 1 & 2, and sets a good tone and definately has that 80's racoon city feel to it all, and fans will like how familiar a lot of it is.I would have enjoyed this film a lot more if there weren't a couple of poor casting choices for a couple of the main characters, i don't know what the casting people were thinging, but frankly they should have been fired. Firstly, the way they way they portray Leon in the movie is downright disrespectful and fans will not approve or reconise the Leon in this movie, both in how he looks and acts, he comes across as incompotent to a borderline moron, and Jill Valentine doesn't rersemble the game character in the least, they weren't even trying, and Wesker doesn't come across as either scheming or intimidating, but the funny thing is, the rest of it is done so well, this just about makes the movie decent overall, but like i say, it would have been so much better if the characters i mentioned were cast and portrayed better. I will add that Chris and Claire Redfield were pretty spot on, especially Chris, excellent casting choice there.Is this movie worth getting and watching? Everything taken into account, yes, but i hope they re-cast and change how Leon and Jill are portrayed in a sequel/s if there is any.

Fans of the videogame will see lots of references on this film. Sound is very active on the rear speakers.Feels like playing the game without having the control in your hands.Only for fans of the saga!
