Works, but I wouldn't recommend or buy again because it's too short and a bit too narrow.
After interaction with the seller, this is a revision of my original review. ... After first receiving this, I noted--as a former healthcare provider--how I had found the product too short for my average-sized male neck and that it seemed as though, compared with another one from another company I'd bought years ago, that I'd lost in a move, it didn't retain heat quite as long. I did note in that review that I accepted responsibility for being surprised by the inadequate length since the ad had clearly noted the length and I failed to measure my neck and just assumed it would be adequate. Within 24 hours of leaving my review, the company owner politely reached out to me, apologized for my disappointment, and offered to send me a larger model free of charge if I would just donate the original one to someone in need. I replied that I greatly appreciated her response and while I was certainly happy to donate the first one and try out a larger replacement, I didn't expect it since--as my review had noted--the length issue was completely my fault for not having measured myself first. She also noted that the newness of the natural grain filler varied, and thus the moisture content, which could affect heat retention and, over time, should retain heat longer. She was very polite and very quick to reply to each of my replies to her messages...and, again, it's important to highlight the fact that though my review had taken the onus upon myself, she reached out to me first. She encouraged me to try the larger model (whose product number I have forgotten unfortunately, but it's under Sunny Bay products) which features a MUCH wider back-of-the-neck area and an elastic strap that holds the ends together so that the heating bag encircles the neck better, touches more neck area, and subsequently, because of the better fit, retains heat much longer. Also, from the time I gave her my address so that she could send the larger model directly to me, I had it on my doorstep in about three to four days.(Just a note I feel that I should place as a former health provider to help reduce the potential for injuries...please follow the enclosed instructions exactly, and NEVER heat it beyond 2 minutes to reduce the risk of fire/burning to the bag itself and also to reduce the risk of burns to the person. Also, always monitor yourself during application, particularly if you have sensitive skin, diabetes, or another condition that might make you less sensitive to heat and/or more prone to burns.)BOTTOM LINE...With this much wider model with the elastic "joiner", I am very pleased and think that, though a bit more expensive than the first basic model I ordered, it is well worth the extra money. The moist heat does a great job in quickly reducing or eliminating the very tight neck that I occasionally get from long computer sessions, particularly when I'm under stress with an important, nearing deadline. (I should note though that, depending on the person and area for which the bag is needed, the first, smaller model could be completely appropriate.) Also, in a time of profit-driven companies that are so quick to compromise quality and customer satisfaction and which don't have the integrity to stand behind their products/services, Sunny Bay--and its owner Sharon--(a 20+-year-old American company based in Washington State) is a shining example of customer-centric operations. I can easily see why this company has remained in business with someone as nice, caring, and responsive as Sharon at the helm. Thus, this revised review of the replacement item (and also considering my excellent interaction with Sharon) is a wholehearted, 5-star endorsement of Sharon and Sunny Bay. You don't take a chance with this company and their products, because they fully stand behind them!

So Helpful After Surgery โ A Thoughtful & Effective Gift
I bought this SunnyBay microwave heating pad for my mother-in-law as a Christmas gift while she was recovering from surgery, and it has truly been a lifesaver for her. Her doctor actually recommended this type of heating pad, and this one has worked wonderfully.Itโs very easy to microwave, not overly heavy, and holds heat for exactly the amount of time she needs for relief. She finds it comfortable to use around her neck without feeling bulky or stiff. We chose the purple color and itโs bright, beautiful, and still looks brand new after over a month of regular use. The quality has really impressed us.This made such a thoughtful gift and has provided real comfort during recovery. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone needing soothing heat therapy or looking for a practical, caring gift.

Relieve your pain!
This is perfect for relaxing your shoulder/neck area to relieve pain. Itโs a little heavy but thatโs what I like. It certainly holds the heat and has a lavender smell which is relaxing. The size is nice and falls over the shoulders where needed!

Warm moist heat where and when itโs needed
Exactly what I needed! Moist heat without being moist and can be warmed up quickly for continued use (though not prolonged - per directions). The lavender scent can be strong at first. Had whiplash from a recent fall where my head it a door jamb โฆ I was up within seconds of the fall and felt fine except for goose egg on my noggin. Over the next day or so I started feeling the tightness settle in my neck, and, while I could turn my head, it was slow and felt like wherever I stopped I kinda froze in place for a bit. *** if something similar has happened to you, please seek medical attention to avoid any further injury to your neck/spinal cord *** fortunately I was able to figure it out and got this item right away to slowly ease my neck back into regular operation. I have a heating pad but thought moist heat would be better and I think it made the difference. Within a few days I was able to look over my shoulder in both directions. Keep the instruction card handy by the microwave so you donโt over heat it. It can also be used to warm the foot of your bed under the covers for a better nightโs sleep. I did sorta hold it closed around my neck the first couple of times, then got a bath towel to tie around the whole set up on my neck so I didnโt have to hold it there. I started turning my head left and right the second day I used it .. for a few times starting out and progressed to looking back further as the stiffness would allow.

Good pad
It is so very close . . . but not quite there. A warm microwaveable neck pad is very much a great concept. Here are the little flaws in this design you should be aware of: 4 inches too short, reheatable materials inside have a bad odor, some moisture was present inside the pad and that created a tiny bit of hot steam, briefly, but not good, no clasp in this design so you have to hold it around your own neck. Here's the good items: soft, well stitched, affordable, arrived quickly.

Heating pad
Heats ok when buying consider size รฌt is heavy and large. I use a small size also
User
longer length is good for shoulders
The longer length very good for shoulder and neck use. The lavender odor was not overwhelming and wore off after a few uses (microwave heating). Definitely a help when muscles are sore.

Comfortable & effective
Great for aches and pains in the neck or shoulders, the fabric feels good against the skin - highly recommended!
User
Poor and no return policy
Does not get hot, just slightly warm. Wanted to return this but no returns on this item. Clearly there is a reason returns are not allowed, as the product is poor.

Ahhhh!
I love this product! I use it to sooth my sore muscles after a work out. Just a quick 60 seconds in the microwave and it warms me up after being out in -20C weather!
User
