Affordable and reliable
I picked this pump up about 2/3 months ago solely to use for vacuum forming kydex, while a lot of companies recommend high HP pumps for kydex I’m limited to available amps on my breaker since I work out of an apartment, tried another pump before this that used about 9 amps and couldn’t get it to work at all and figured id try this pump but with worries it wouldn’t displace enough air or have a strong enough pump to get a defined mold, however like I said I’ve had it for 2/3 months and haven’t had a single issue and it works wonders for running a small business. Would recommend for people getting into vacuum forming

Nice vaccum pump
Have to replace the AC compressor in two cars. Instead of paying someone to vacuum and recharge, just spend the money to get a vacuum pump and a gauge set to do it myself. It pays for this vacuum pump and the gauge set for doing just one car. This comes with the proper fitting to attach to the yellow line of the gauge set. I did not know that it actually comes with a bottle of pump oil. Before it arrived, I was calling all over for the pump oil. No hardware stores, home centers, or many auto parts stores carry it. Finally found it in the NAPA auto parts store. It was a present surprise to find a bottle of pump oil in the box when this arrived. It does the job even with 1.5 CFM capacity. Just vacuum the system for half and hour after replacing the compressor and the accumulator, then shut off the gauge valves and let it sit for half an hour to make sure there are no leaks before recharging. Works great.

Very nice
Well for startes it comes from a very reliable manufacturer. I love robinair products they always seem to last for a while. It came with everything promiced in the ad. I know a couple of people that bought this said it did not come with one for them, but mine did. It was kinda hard to find in the box but did eventually find it in there. Its pretty light weight compared to my old one. And yea its only a 1.5 but its great for mobile systems. It runs very quiet and you can definately tell when your spring a leak during a vacume session. I love this thing. It makes it nice to do some simple work for yourself or even some friends. Very portable in size and made of good quality as far as the outside is concerned. I have no doubts with the lifespan of this product just because of the manufacturer. I would have given this 5 stars, but the manufacturer recomends oil changes after every use instead of after so many hours of running, but for the price and the name who can complain. I probably wont change oil that often, but will do oil changes frequently. I'm the type of tech that likes to protect my investments. Oh yea and they do give a 1 yr. warrenty. So if it makes it that long I would have gotten my monies worth out of it for sure.

Works Great!
I am a nearly 30 year veteran mechanic and have used recovery and recycling machines for most A/C jobs but have used the vacuum pumps a few times over the years and this one is as good as any I have used. I purchased this one for my own personal use at home and it comes with vacuum oil and 134a adapter fitting. It is by no means the best but at the price point I think it is a great value. Overall I am satisfied.

It worked like a charm
I used this pump to service a mini split AC system. No issues whatsoever. Pulled a vacuum with no problem.

Works as promised
I have used Robinair products professionally for 11 years and this vacuum pump meets all my expectations. It's quiet, runs relatively cool, with low vibrations. Pump came with 1/4" flare fitting on the inlet, an adapter to the automotive style fitting, and vacuum pump oil. I have used this on a couple of vehicles so far (one of which was a Suburban with rear a/c) and have no complaints. I was able to pull 28" of vacuum with this pump in a few minutes and hold vacuum for 45 minutes. Be aware this is a small pump (1.5 cfm) and consequently takes longer to pull a vacuum which is fine for personal use, but would recommend a larger pump for shop use. I'm very happy with this product and would recommend it to others.

This is a great little pump
This is a great little pump; I'm certainly no expert on vacuum pumps, and couldn't explain to you exactly what the advantages are of two stage vs one stage, and how many CFM etc, but I bought this to be able to draw a vacuum on my car (or friends and relatives) before adding refrigerant to the system. This is the proper way to do it, to remove any moisture in the system that could damage the compressor or other AC system components. I guess you could probably get away without this in some situations, but I figured I'd rather pay the money and know that I'm doing it "the right way." I could certainly imagine and understand a fellow DIYer saying I'm not paying 80 bucks for something that I will only use once or twice and might not technically really need. I can relate to that. But I"m the type that likes to have "the right tool for the job."

Misty
Be prepared for the first oil fill to take up almost the entire bottle of high vacuum oil that comes in the box. The manual (both online at the Robinair website and in the printed manual in the box) does not bother to tell you the actual required volume of oil to get to the fill line in the oil chamber viewing window.I'm using this to degas silicone molds and cast polyurethane in a Bel-Art 420430000 vacuum chamber. It does the job. However, as it's warming up, it mists like crazy. Once it's pulled vacuum, it's quiet and does not mist. During that initial pull, maybe the first 30 to 60 seconds, expect whatever room you're in to smell like a diesel truck just passed.Overall, it's a good 100$ pump and does what it's supposed to do. Just don't expect great documentation or online resources.
