Okuma Rockaway Graphite Body Surf Spinning Reel

I caught a first bull red on this reel last week. It casts really far and is smooth like a butter. I also love the price!!!

I love the reel, awesome light duty Bait-feeder. Yes it's not made for shark, or Shamo... But perfect for medium size fish. It has some flex, but that comes with non-metal spinners. Nonetheless, still an awesome reel.

Okuma makes great reels but unfortunately this isn't one of them. It has great features such as long cast spool and baitfeeder but the reel itself isn't that sturdy. The first time I put the rod under pressure reeling in a fish I noticed the reel arm was bending and the crank came loose as well. If Okuma spent a little more to upgrade this item it could be amazing. If the reel seat and arm were upgraded and if the crank were to self screw in instead of screwing in the cap on the opposite side this would be huge. I can't use this reel due to the inferior quality even though it has some great features. Okuma please upgrade this product and it could be one of the best selling longcast spinning reels on the market.

I bought two of these a year ago. I go surf fishing every other weekend on average. Both reels broke off near where the reel attaches to the rod within the past two weeks. In addition the rear bait lever stopped working on both within the past month. I have moved onto another brand.

Came with out the box it’s supposed to come in and has a loud grinding in the gears and hard to turn… found out there is broken material inside and the reel is useless now… also the handle will not stay tight keeps loosening up when turning the handle.
