No. I haven't found a way to attach a headboard.

What type of wood is this bed frame? What are the slats made from?

The wood is from overseas, so I don't know the wood species. The slits are spaced approximately 5 inches apart and there are a bunch. I found the construction be great. There is center support made of tubular metal with 3 legs. We use it in our spare bedroom for company. My son is 6'5" and weights over 220. Both he and his wife have had no problems sleeping on it.

How much weight does the full size bed holds?

The product lists the weight limit at 400 lb, I doubt the manufactures claim of 1500 is even remotely accurate, especially with the number of reviews claiming the bed broke.
