is it waterproof like it states in the picture where it compares the case?

This is a HORRIBLE case! It is certainly Not waterproof as the charge port on the bottom is completely open, the back hinge is completely open to allow room to open, not to mention the fact that the case isn't even one piece! the rop and bottom are 2 separate pieces with a piece of tape to stick to the top portion! It os not carbon fiber, and is by no means shock proof...it is the thinnest cheapest plastic that could be used. and the "locking button" doesn't push to lock you literally have to pull the top on and off! Do yourself a favor and find another option!

Is it real carbon fiber or just a pattern?

Hard to tell. It could be real carbon fiber or hard plastic with the pattern on it. However, it is only on the front of the case. The rest of the case is plastic. I like it a lot.

What is the extra piece that comes with it? it looks like a plug for something but I can't figure it out.

It pops the bottom piece off the original pop case.

Will this fit the new 2023 echo buds?

If the 2023 Echo Buds are the exact same dimensions as the the AirPods Pro…that it’s designed for, maybe.
