I used a digital caliper. Because it's thin, it's hard to get a stable reading. I'd say the long arm is 0.525" across, give or take a little bit.

Good Protractor

This adjustable protractor is laser etched so its markers will not rub off with time; I bought the 5-inch model to suit my design needs. EDIT: Very satisfied after measuring a 20-degree cutting angle for a well-loved knife. The protractor and angle gauge was spot-on and worked brilliantly. The tool has a nice tactile feel.
