The Swiss Knife of Projectors (almost...)
I picked this puppy up just after the prime day sale when it got listed under lighting deals. My need of the hour was a Beamer with small footprint, with battery back up and wireless casting (something that can work as a ad-hoc screen in my bedroom and when i am out on holidays). The toss was between this unit, mini beam PW800 and PF1500. All Three units have there +/- so depends on what you are looking for - i think i couldn't have gone wrong with either one of them - just matter of how much money i wanted to invest in it. When the deal came on, i decided to take a chance with the PV150. Thanks to prime i received the unit just in time for my Holiday to Bali with group of 4 families (total of 11 folks which included 3 kids age group of 3-6 years). During the week long holiday this unit was pushed to the max My thoughts on the unit: +ve Micro footprint Next to non existent operational noise Battery backup (good to last for the Length of movies like Finding Nemo or Frozen) Mira cast functionality makes life so much easily (worked with Android devices, failed with Surface Pro 3) Acceptable Charge time Cost (Especially the lighting deal was awesome) works fairly week with ambient light, however it really shines in a controlled environment -ve Not HD (so for most of us its non issue - however if you are looking for HD this is a limitation) It has a Brick Charger (you will need have it in you bag when travelling) - maybe the future version can work work with USB (quick charge sort of capabilities) Missing Bluetooth - that would have been a killer feature I think overall i am very happy with my purchase, this little beamer was a super hit with all the folks (big and small) during the holiday - we used it by the pool at the breakfast table and even in the patio. I am going to add a pull down screen ( Elite Screens Manual Series, 80-inch Diagonal 16:9, Pull Down Projection Screen with Auto Lock, Model: M80UWH ) to help it shine whenever used indoors. Also considering getting a Bluetooth Transmitter for the audio.

A pretty good pico projector that is a step up from older models.
This is a pico projector with lower resolution and brightness compared to a full size projector, if you need a projector for large groups in a typical lit room pico projectors aren't for you. This is my second pico projector having owned the Samsung HP03 until it became unusable with the stuck DLP mirror issue. The Samsung was more of a novelty with its 30 lumen output and poor sharpness, it found very little use. This LG PV150 however can be quite usable if you can control the lights in the room. Video quality and color is good, the sharpness is even throughout the image unlike the Samsung whuch was soft at the edges. The buit in media player was able to handle 1080p videos, however it does not support DTS audio. Dolby Digital works fine as it is Dolby Digital Plus certified. The speaker is not very loud, about the same as a typical laptop but you have the headphone jack output to make use of headphones or external speakers. The remote is nice with all the settings accessible and buttons typically found in a full size projector remote. For displaying data like presentations from a computer you do run into the main limitation of this projector which is the low 854x480 native resolution. Small text can be hard to read and line graphics will be a bit jagged but it is usable in a pinch if you keep the projected image to a smaller size to get the better brightness and contrast. Most, if not all, modern laptops come with HDMI outputs so the lack of an analogue input should not be an issue. You will need an adapter if your computer has a smaller mini or micro HDMI port. I tried the wireless function with my Nexus 5 and it works fine. There is a a bit of lag though such that what appears on the projector is about a second delayed vs what is on the phone. As many other people have noted, wireless does not work with iOS devices. I have not run it on batteries enough to tell if the 2 hour claim is true. (UPDATE) Using the built in media player to play movies from a USB flash drive (x.264 encoded 1080P video) I get less than 1:20 minutes before it shuts off, I guess the decoding takes a lot of power. Overall I like it. As long as you are aware of its limitations in resolution and brightness I think you can find a use for it if portability is your top priority. I do wish LG included a case comapct HDMI cable and smaller power adapter to round things out seeing as they are marketing it as an Ultraportable Projector..
