Effective Bittering Agent
I've been a nail biter for my entire life. My fingers would hurt all of the time because I couldn't stop going after every little thing. So after a third of a lifetime of pain, I finally wanted to really truly stop. Combine this product with CBT therapy and motivation, I now have pain free fingers and long nails. It's a glorious feeling. The bittering agent in this product is quite potent, and a great reminder to stop me in my tracks. I'm not sure about the moisturizing aspect being amazing, I still feel like my fingers are a bit dry, but they're better than without. Also, I do have to reapply regularly, as it comes off kind of easily. Which isn't so bad, as when I'm cooking I taste what I'm making with my fingers sometimes and don't want to have the bitterant affecting my palette. Compare that to a bitterant nail polish. But it's in a great compact package that I don't mind having as a part of my EDC.

WORKS with organic ingredients
I like that this brand uses more natural and organic ingredients than competitors. And it WORKS- cured a 7 year old's thumb sucking in one night after we had tried many other things. Do not apply right after kids have eaten or had a lot of liquid, because it is SO bitter it makes many people gag and vomit. An hour or two after their last meal, should be fine.

Effective, but not long-lasting
Overall, this is a good product, but having used more traditional nail-polish-type deterrants in the past, I found this to be less effective. I'm giving it four stars due to the application being very convenient and different, but the result was that I ended up biting my nails again more often, as I will explain.I am a lifelong heavy nail biter, and despite using deterrants for 2 years and trying very hard to curb the habit, it's still a challenge. For the last 2 years I used Mavala stop nail polish, which has an intensely bitter taste and is basically a clear bottle of nail polish with bitter chemical added. As long as I keep this nail polish on, I can't bite my nails. Although the polish is water resistant, it wears off in about 2-3 days and by the end of the second day, I may find myself putting my fingers in my mouth some and attempting to bite my nails despite remnants of the bitter polish still being there. This is where these deterrants all hit a snag for me. If I'm not diligent about keeping it on my nails, I go back to biting.Which brings me to the Nail Quail. I bought it to try something different. This product has a similar strong bitter taste, and the applicator is so much more convenient than the nail polish bottle. Initially I was extremely happy with the product because of how much more quickly I could apply it to my nails, and it dries fast too as it is water-based. However, also because it is water-based, I found that within a single day it has already washed almost completely off of my hands (I wash my hands regularly throughout the day, especially when I'm working). To use this effectively, I need to reapply it multiple times each day, instead of ~3 times each week. That doesn't mean it's totally ineffective, but for my case it isn't perfect either. The shape of the product is like a marker, and I think it's meant to be slipped into a pocket or purse to carry around and reapply when out and about. I haven't done this, but I suppose I'll need to start. If I could get a formula of this that was more water resistant with the same applicator tip, I think it would be just about perfect.

THIS STUFF WORKS
I have been a nail biter for as long as I can remember ( I am 26). THIS STUFF WORKS! has absolutely no smell or oily shine, so you forget that it is on your hands. When I absent mindedly go to bite my nail the absolutely awful, bitter taste instantly deters me. I have been using this for a week, and haven't bit one nail! Works best if applied 2x daily. I keep it at my desk at work and plan to buy another one for my purse. Worth every penny.

Great but one MAJOR issue: Handheld food.
This solution is amazing and has helped me to greatly reduce my nail biting habit.Although there is one big issue; when you eat anything with your hands, the taste transfers to the food.Other than that, great product! Disgusting taste.I have seen some reviews about skin peeling off?? Not for me.

Finally!
My 3 yr old is a thumb sucker since he was 3 months old. We tried a few things like the bitter nail polish(didn’t phase him), the mesh glove(he would break it off), the brace that prevents your elbow from bending(he took it off in 5seconds). Nothing worked. We were worried about his teeth since they were starting to round in the front. My coworker told me about this product and I immediately bought it. Worth a try since it had great reviews. Day 1: He cried after realizing it tasted awful. He kept saying he wanted to suck his thumb. It was awful. I felt bad but he needs to break the habit. Day 2/3: better. I had to trick him to put it on his thumb and whined about wanting to suck his thumb. We are in day 6 and for the last 2-3 days I haven’t heard him whine or try to put it in his mouth. He has put the liquid in his own thumb since he is Mr. Independent lol. So glad its working. I hope his teeth go back but only time will tell.

Wean your toddler
Used this to wean my 2.5 year old who was obsessed with nursing all the time using me as a pacifier mostly! She tasted it once and never breastfed again! This is amazing! Highly recommend

Mixed review
This product worked for a couple weeks but she will start sucking her fingers 5 min after applying now. I'm rating 4 stars, because this product is exactly as advertised and is easy to apply, tastes horrible, my daughter is just bound and determined to suck her fingers so we will try other methods
