Excellent Coffee Machine Once It’s Properly Settled In
I’ve been extremely pleased with this Philips 5400 Series coffee machine. It offers a great range of coffee options, and once dialled in, it produces excellent coffee at the touch of a button. One thing I’d mention to new owners is that, like several other reviewers have noted, the first few cups were not particularly impressive. The machine needs a little time to settle in, and the grinder seems to improve after some use. I’d recommend using a less expensive coffee bean initially while you run a number of coffees through the machine and adjust the settings to your taste. Once everything was properly set up, the quality of the coffee improved significantly. The variety of drinks available is fantastic, and it’s easy to customise strength and volume preferences. A feature I particularly love is the LatteGo milk system. It’s simple to use, easy to clean, and I really appreciate that the milk container can go straight into the fridge when not in use. Such a small thing, but it makes daily use much more convenient and reduces waste. Overall, this is a well-designed bean-to-cup machine that delivers great coffee and has become a much-loved part of my daily routine. Highly recommended, especially if you’re willing to be a little patient during the initial setup period.

Perfect buy
Best ever purchase after using the pod machine for years and spending a small fortune on coffee pods. Easy to use, economical, bag of beans lasts for a month, all you need is milk. Coffee is quality of a Costa, hot, tasty , as much as you like. Very chuffed with it

An excellent coffee machine, perfect no matter what time of day it is
The selection of coffee types you can choose and for the ones you can create yourself, it's an amazing coffee machine. It's fantastic and we'd highly recommend this machine to all, in fact one of our friends has already purchased one. So easy to use, including programming your own types of coffee. We've had espresso, flat white, latte, americano, etc and they are perfect. We have set the grind level at 12, as we love strong coffee, with no issues. Putting an extra shot gives you a wake up call you need on a morning. Cleaning is simple, as is taking it apart. Yes it is slightly noisy, but that is understandable, it's grinding coffee beans and heating milk. We use full fat milk and coffee beans that have a rating of 9 and above. The temperature is just what you need and the milk frothing is fantastic. Great water capacity, so you can get at least 8 cups of a latte or if you just have espresso sizes, then it would last you all day for 2 people. Excellent value for money and it looks great in any kitchen. The only thing I have, is that inside the box there was not a tube of grease. It states that one is supplied, but there is nothing.

Absolutely love it, but
After having this machine for a week, I can wholeheartedly recommend it. It is a bit loud but I keep mine in the cupboard. We got cafe Nero beans to try it with and the coffee really tastes and looks like from a coffee shop! Love it! I would recommend getting some cheap beans to set the grinder right, because even tho the producer says the medium setting is good enough, we did adjust it slightly, and you should only do it while the machine is grinding. We binned 10 first coffees before we set it up properly, but that's was our choice. Also, the first coffee machine had to be sent back as it was leaking inside. Now, the user manual does not require checking the inside brewing compartment, it's not in the set up, and the YouTube video that we watched before we order it, said there's no need to touch anything BUT the part was not put inside properly. After checking the part with Amazon technician we wiggle a bit more with it and the leak has stopped. The next machine we got we knew we needed to take the compartment out and put it in again with a click sound to avoid the same thing happening. So if your waste bin is full of water, I would just take the brewing part out and put it in again properly. Do a few coffees to give the machine time to catch up to new adjustments before you give up. I think it's absolutely worth the effort as it's great quality coffee machine, easy to clean, that makes great selection of coffees.

Makes good coffee - could be more user configurable
Bought this to replace an old, and finally broken, deLonghi with the 5500, mostly because of the comments on it being quieter than the 5400 - and because they were a similar price. I guess the main thing is that we like the coffee - but there are a few niggles. It would be nice if you could choose which of your favourite drinks appeared on the main screen. As it happens, our favourite factory-set drink is cafe au lait, which is several (seven) presses into the 'more drinks' menu (but which incidentally is on the 5400 home screen). Yes, you can re-program one of the home screen icons but the parameters are not always infinitely variable, depending on which drink style you want. And the temperature control is system wide rather than by profile - not so useful if different users prefer different temperatures. Although it advertises a 1.8L water capacity, it stops feeding when there is still about 250ml in the tank - so actually there is only just over1.5l available to use. This seems to be a common issue which means you have to fill it more frequently than you might expect, and also that about a third of your descaling solution gets wasted. The drip tray fills quite quickly even if we use an empty mug under the spouts to catch most of the rinsing water, so there must be a fair amount of overspill water coming from elsewhere into the drip tray. Beware also, that if you use a mug as described, it will hide the pop-up float in the drip tray so you might not know just how much water there is actually in there. The milk system is simpler than the previous machine but the quick clean is not totally effective. It may clean all the internal milk pathways but it doesn't fully clean the spout which ends up with bits of dried milk around it. Overall it is a good machine if you can get it for the right price.

Massively inferior compared to DeLonghi bean2cup machines
After having DeLonghi coffee machines for the last 15 years, we made the mistake of changing to this Philips machine 6 months ago. We stuck with it for the last 6 months thinking we just need to get the settings right. However we have given up and have just bought a replacement DeLonghi and the difference is so startling that it has pushed me to write a comparative review. Right from the outset, the Philips machine surprised us with required maintenance. The moving parts have to be lubricated monthly which is really fiddly and difficult to get at. The machine constantly needs emptying as not just the hopper but also the drip tray keeps filling with a slurry of water and grounds. This has to be done every 3 or 4 cups! Having different profiles for different people seems like a good idea, but in reality means you have to click through 5 different profiles to get to your own. I like to have a large mug of strong black coffee. The Philips machine cannot make that as a single operation. I have to max out the coffee strength while halving the amount of water. Then make 2 cups of coffee, each with an extra shot just to get a single cup the way I like it. And the beans in the hopper don't slide down to the grinder and constantly need to be encouraged down the slope (we have a small dedicated brush just for this job). Every so often the ground beans get stuck above the brewing unit and you get a cup of dirty water. To fix this you have to open the ground coffee port and poke the blockage down. We have just replaced this with a DeLonghi bean to cup machine which revealed the most significant difference between the two systems. The DeLonghi simply makes much better coffee. It too has profiles, but you can tell it how many profiles to create, so you don't have to click through multiple used profiles. AND I can make my large cup of strong black coffee with a single button push. I simply cannot express just how superior DeLonghi machines are compared to this Philips piece of c@@#!

Marvelous Machine does a great coffee and so many choices really worth your money.
The bean to cup Philips 5400 series is undoubtedly the best coffee machine we’ve ever purchased it’s so easy to choose the coffee and add the extra coffee, milk, froth you require also it saves your favorite type of coffee and any extras you want it to have with it. We found that the best coffee beans for us are the Italian roast it’s so good and great with any of the selections you choose. Enjoy.

Easy on all fronts
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Excellent bean-to-cup coffee maker with great customisation options I’m extremely happy with my new Philips bean-to-cup coffee maker. The setup process was very straightforward, with clear instructions, and I had it up and running quickly. Day-to-day maintenance is also easy, as the machine is simple to clean and doesn’t feel like a chore to look after. I’ve now tried most of the different coffee options available and have been impressed with the quality and consistency of each drink. The coffee tastes fresh and well-balanced, and it’s great being able to enjoy café-style drinks at home. One of the standout features for me is the level of customisation — you can adjust both the strength and the amount of milk for different coffee types, which means everyone in the household can tailor their drink to their own preferences. The machine feels well made and thoughtfully designed, with an intuitive interface that’s easy to navigate. The milk system works very well, producing smooth and creamy milk, and it’s convenient to adjust quantities depending on whether you want a stronger coffee or a milkier drink. Overall, this is a reliable, high-quality bean-to-cup coffee machine that delivers great results with minimal effort. It offers excellent flexibility, is easy to maintain, and consistently produces great-tasting coffee. I would happily recommend it to anyone considering a Philips bean-to coffee machine

Kompaktowy i piękny
Kompaktowy i piękny design.
