Hobbyist welder here, not a pro, but, wow, just from an aesthetic perspective, this hammer is a thing of beauty and it rings like a tuning fork when you tap it. An LLM tells me the ringing is because of the hardened steel, one-piece construction. Some people on reddit find this annoying, and I guess a jobsite full of "ringing hammers" or "estring" hammers might not be great, but there are several suggestions for toning it down. For me, with an admittedly naive view, it looks, sounds, and feels like quality.

I am a huge fan of Estwing Picks and Hammers, and I was pleased to see they made a slag hammer. This is similar to the Estwing Rock Hammer, but has the flat blade end. I love the handle grip and the color makes finding it in a sea of tools easier.

Der Pickel ist hervorragend verarbeitet und wirklich sehr robust und Abriebsfest. Haben ihn seit einigen Monaten in Verwendung, oft auch verdreckt im feuchten lange liegen lassen. Nix rostet, lediglich ein paar Kratzer, jedoch nicht tief.

J'ai longuement hésité avant de commander ce produit, mais, dès la première prise en main le prix s'efface pour laisser place à la satisfaction, un produit extrêmement massif, robuste, bien construit, je l'utilise comme soudeur projections, décapage etc, mon seul regret est de ne l'avoir pas trouvé plus tôt.

For the price of two soft mediocre hammers, this one chipping hammer is one of the best investments ive made so far. After a week of use, the tip and the blade have not dulled one bit. Out of the packaging, i heard the metal ring with a little tap, which is a clear indication that it is made from very high quality steel. The hammer chips slag very easily, with the addition of scraping off spatter effortlessly, while being lighter than most storebought hammers. This is easily the best, and only hammer you will ever have to buy.
