Electric RV Entry Step Motor 300-1457 1010002326 Compatible with 25 24 Series RV Step Motor, All Electric Step Replaces 369506 094707-05-701

Our entry steps were chattering and extending/retracting repeatedly. This motor was an exact fit replacement for the factory unit. Replacement is a bit challenging due to the location and access to the three identically sized mounting bolts. There is a reducing spacer which must be retained and used on the replacement. These spacers have one end smaller than the other to insert into the mounting hole. When removing the mounting bolts, they will fall out!Secure the steps prior to motor removal. I used a piece of rope and tied two steps together. Top most bolt removed last to best support the motor. Install tip: Insert the three bolts through the motor. Put a single rubber band over the projected threaded ends of the bolts. Put the spaces into the plate mounting holes. The rubber band will hold the bolts in place until you're ready to tighten. Thread the bolt a turn or two into the plate, just enough to get a good bite. Do all three. Snip the rubber band and tighten down.While you're contorted laying there, spray EVERY pivot point on the steps and frame with a good dry silicone spray. Anything oily will attract dirt and build up over time.

FINALLY! After wrong motor from a bonafide RV dealer, and then after receiving a different Amazon vendor's "300-1457" advertised compatible motor that was not in fact compatible (had short shaft/cog), I chose this vendor's 300-1457 motor based on the photograph that shows green checkmark for longer shaft/cog and red x for shorter shaft/cog. It was in fact the correct motor and worked perfectly when installed.If you're looking for a new step motor, verify if you have the short shaft/cog or long shaft/cog version and then make sure the one you order matches the one you have. I tried two different short shaft/cog motors and they did not work, and the way they are constructed you cannot disassemble/combine motor parts to take longer shaft/cog off original motor to place in new motor -- the shaft itself is press-fitted to the body of the motor.Bravo to this vendor for highlighting the difference between the short and long shaft/cog variants.I would also like to point out that when my OEM step motor stripped and failed while travelling (3yr old motorhome), the Lippert/Kwikee OEM branded motor replacement I purchased at an RV dealer was $350 and was the WRONG 300-1406 variant even though they assured me it would fit my Revolution Series steps. I was travelling and needed the part so I paid for it (no refunds), only to waste $350. This motor from HZ-Monstar/Amazon was only $35, ONE TENTH THE PRICE! And it worked perfectly when the $350 motor did not.The Lippert/Kwikee step design, at least ones that use this style motor, seem problematic. All motors of this style have a nylon/plastic internal worm gear cog that easily strips if the step is blocked from motion or reverses motion too quickly (open/close door repeatedly while steps are still in motion causing steps to reverse direction while in motion), or when adding weight to steps if they are not fully extended. I have searched but not found any replacement motors that have a metal internal cog, so I will be purchasing an additional one of these correct replacement motors to keep as spare part while travelling so I don't get dinged for another $350 next time it fails while traveling.Bravo, HZ-MONSTAR, for the pictures and description that highlighted the subtle difference between the 300-1457 and 300-1407 motor variants and providing the correct part at a phenomenal price versus OEM/dealer replacement.

Perfect but they fail so often I hate to not have an extra one on hand.The motor is easy to replace and works smoothly but my previous one only lasted 2 years

Replaced my RV step motor with this product. Installation went smoothly and this motor is very quiet.
