Hello Simon, yes this is correct. When using the speaker terminals for ZONE 2 you will lose one set of speakers that could be available in the MAIN zone. If you use the ZONE 2 LINE OUT you can then use all the potential speaker terminals for the MAIN zone but the external amplifier will need its own volume control. - MM

Does the second (sub) hdmi output permit shared video with hdmi-out 1, and discrete video selection (i.e. different than hdmi1)?

Hello Steven, provided the port is activated in the SETUP menu, it will display the exact same image as the MAIN port. This receiver does not have the capability to output a different video signal from the MAIN port on the SUB port. To output a different source than the MAIN zone you will need a receiver that has a ZONE 2 output port such as the TX-RZ740 - MM

I have Martin Logan speakers, they recommend 150w at 4ohm will this receiver be able to power front speakers and a center channel?

I use the receiver to power my entertainment system which includes two large speakers and a center speaker. Not sure of the specs on the speakers.
