Bob's Red Mill Potato Flakes, 16oz (Pack of 4) - Non GMO, Vegan, Kosher

I wanted instant mashed potatoes to add to soups, stews, and other dishes that might need some thickening without changing the flavor. I also wanted a product that wasn't full of chemicals and preservatives. Bob's Red Mill flakes have only potatoes listed in the ingredients, so this was perfect for me. This came in a 4 pack so I was able to share the flakes with a couple friends. I would definitely recommend these flakes if you want to make mashed potatoes or just use it as a thickener.

I love this product! I use it to thicken soups and sauces during the holidays and I even bake with it!! It comes in handy on the nights that I don’t feel like cooking as well. Loaded mashed potatoes with chives, cheddar cheese and bacon bits is a classic staple in my house. It sounds elaborate but it’s actually quite easy and simple.

Quick and easy when you don’t have time (or energy!) to make mashed potatoes from scratch. Taste great, good consistency. Also great for thickening stews, gravies, etc. No additives, just one ingredient - dehydrated potatoes. A staple at my house.

I have stopped using whole potatoes for mashed since I mainly cook for two. Adjusting the dry weight of the flakes to water ratio from that on the package will give the best results. Also, they are excellent for making gnocchi.
