Redwork Winter Twitterings Paperback – July 9, 2010

I just love the drawings and the ideas for projects. I discovered the projects do not need to be embroidered with just red thread....I recently completed the Christmas tree with the cardinals in greens, red, brown, and white on a pink glitter material. Added a few red gem stones and it is adorable. Thanks to Hickory Stick quilting store in Hannibal, MO for the idea.

The blocks are adorable, and the patterns are full sized. There are directions for the pieced blocks used in setting the embroidered ones. Minimal directions are included for basic embroidery stitches. I've seen a completed one in redwork, and it's beautiful. It would be good in colored threads, too, or bluework, etc..

This is a beautifully illustrated book, with several holiday projects, and detailed instructions. The embroidery parts of this book could be done by beginners, however it would be best to be familiar with machine sewing and quilting for completion of the projects.

only thing I was upset about was one has to trace the patterns, they are not transfers as I expected.The patterns in the book are adorable. can be used for many projects.

the book has a lot of nice patterns for Christmas and Winter ..I will love the finished porjects I am sure.

Arrived in wonderful condition! These patterns will compliment my collection of snowmen patterns. I can hardly wait to stitch them out! The varigatged thread by DMC make lovely red work! A thread to compliment these patterns.

Easy quick designs. Would have preferred more details on the assembly and quilt squares, i.e., finished size details of the blocks etc. But overall, this works and I loved the embroidery.

I haven't made anything yet, but the patterns of winter are so detailed for embroidery work. I can't wait to get started.

Now - I.ve never done red or black-work before, but this book has inspired me so much! The photos are clear and the images to copy are clear and sharp. I'm not a traditionalist, so it strikes me I can use this book for quilts, cards, wall hangings, and in ANY colour I choose. Lovely book.
