200N Gas Struts Heavy Duty
I was able to make an exceptional change by using this device to convert a storage bench that had a hinged lid. It is possible to avoid the possibility of accidentally crashing into anything thanks to the automated slow-lowering mechanism, which guarantees a regulated and smooth drop. A feeling of sophistication is added to the entire design as a result of this, in addition to the fact that the storage solution is made more secure. They are suited for a variety of applications that need a support system that is both dependable and long-lasting since their 200N rating generates a strong lifting force. Whether the lid is in the completely open position or in the phase when it is gradually closing, the sturdy construction instills confidence that it will stay firmly in place. A touch of luxury is added to the experience by the gas struts, which make it easy to retrieve the objects that are kept within, and the soft closing function. The storage solution is transformed into a sophisticated piece of furniture as a result of this update, which is not the most obvious but has a significant influence.

Good hinges
They were quite easy to install. My lid was in between recommended weights so it likes to open. But all in all a good product.

Easy and fast
I’m really pleased with these pneumatic lid lifters! They’ve made a big difference in how smoothly my cabinet doors open and shut. They’re solidly made, and I got them at a much better price than what I saw at the big stores—those were almost twice as much. These are just like the ones that came with my new cabinets, so I’m happy I found them and was able to make my older cabinets match. I also needed some gas shocks for an old chest to help slow down the lid, mainly for safety with the kids. Even though there’s nothing harmful inside, they tend to get curious and open the lid, so I wanted to make sure it closed slowly and safely. The installation was a breeze, and the shocks work perfectly to slow the lid. They feel sturdy, so I’m confident they’ll hold up. The instructions were easy to follow, and the whole setup was simple.

OK but not heavy duty, not even medium
The media could not be loaded. This works OK but doesn’t keep my relatively light lid (<10 lbs) from dropping down quite rapidly. I use two hinges. This video is after 3 years use but it’s always been pretty much the same. I am now looking for a true heavy duty hinge to make things easier for delivery drivers.

fantastic
I installed these on a large horse tack box, which has storage on the interior of the lid. Because of that, the weight of the lid can vary a lot, depending on what's loaded. I've had problems with that when using the friction-disk type lid stays because you have to tighten or loosen an adjustment screw to tune them to the lid weight. Even without changing the mounting position on these, I found they soft closed well, in a range of 10 to 25 lb total lid weight.

Great lid support for DIY Murphy Bed Cabinet
The Douper 200N Gas Struts work very well and were perfect for my project.I built a hinged lid on top of a horizontal Murphy Bed that needs to be opened 90 degrees and held in place to open up the bed. The lid weighs 25 pounds, and a single gas strut was all I needed to manage the load.It was a little tricky to figure out the mounting position because the lid is more of a crown sitting on top of a cabinet designed to look like a piece of antique furniture. The instructions provide measurements for a more standard box design that you have to “translate” to a piece of furniture where the lid is a box and not a flat panel. To make this work I used a scrap piece on the side of the cabinet to attach the lower part of the hinge in a trial location. Once it was attached, I marked a connection point on the lid with it opened to 90 degrees where I wanted it. The first attempt was pretty close but did not allow the lid to close all the way. So I shifted the strut down which got things working perfectly.I definitely recommend these struts.

FAILED After 10 to 15 Uses
When first installed and installed exactly as instructed, between 0 and about 5" open, the lid would not stay up, it fell closed with no resistance keeping it open. Opening beyond about 5" to full extension of the lifts, the lid stayed where it was placed. With little effort then the lid could be lowered or pushed closed though by 5" opening it simply slammed shut. I did and do want the lid to stay open where it is placed because it is a large outdoor parcel delivery box.The lid weight is about 22 pounds, half of the stated strength of 44 pounds of these lid lifts. The item description statement, "It is unsuitable for your lid weighing less than 40lb, because the light-weight lid couldn’t be closed for the heavy-duty support," is nonsense. The lid closed easily with slight manual pressing down on the lid or using the lift handle installed on the opening edge.Within three (3) weeks of installation, after about 6 or 7 deliveries (so once opening and closing to deliver and once opening and closing to retrieve each delivery), these lifts offer no lift assistance and no closing resistance.Open the lid to any position and let go and it will slam closed from the weight of the lid pulled by gravity. Not just a waste of money, but a waste my time and the threaded hardware I used to replace the tiny screws (mentioned in at least one other review here) that would have failed soon as well.I'm disgusted by the poor quality and unreliability of these. The manufacturer owes me not just the' price of the lifts, but $350 for my time and materials, to install these, and what do I do with the holes I now have through the box for the mounting hardware, that are not in the same places, locations, required by competing products installation instructions? That's another $300 the manufacturer owes me for time and material to fill the holes and refinish the box.
