Q: How do you mix? Like water to dye ratio?

Hi Susie. I can only answer this question with truth. I don't mix the dye with water because it's so much more fun to wind up the fabric, tie it off, soak it with a soda ash and hot water mix from a spray bottle and sprinkle these amazing packets of beautiful color in fun creative and exciting ways. Soak the fabric sprinkle the dye, soak that in with the same mixture and let that dry then unwrap it and let it dry some more throw it in the dryer and begin the rinse process. But if I were going to create buckets of dye I would use about two cups of hot hot water per packet or maybe a little bit more. I'm so sorry I haven't answered your question but I hope you will find awesome ways to use this awesome product! There is never a time that I don't have these packets on my glass kitchen table ready to go with rubber bands and some bundle of shirts in case someone stops by and wants to have a little fun. These packets have revolutionized my tie dying fun. But they aren't the same as ritt and all of that messy mess if you don't want them to be. Take care.
