Serrated Piranha “Swivel” Peeler 7.25” Red

This is the BEST peeler - hands down! I’ve gone through MANY peelers settling on the old school metal until the Rikon! I bought 2 for myself 2 years ago (2017) and have purchased 5 others for friends and family over the past year. I gave one to a co-worker last year that has since left our office and she emailed me a few weeks ago saying she thought of me while peeling potatoes. It makes a great bridal shower add on gift. This peeler can peel the skin off a mango or kiwi with almost no waste and move right over to potatoes! I LOVE it and you can’t beat the price! Update - Dec 2020: Still going strong! Peeled 15lbs of potatoes and 5 large waxed turnips for Thanksgiving and this peeler is still as sharp as when I first purchased in 2016 despite regular use!

The best peeler I have ever owned! Their previous model was the best peeler I had ever owned, until it disappeared at work after eight years of serious use. This Pirana is amazing! As a professional chef, I peel fifty pounds of asparagus a week. With a standard peeler, you really have to peel the fibrous asparagus over and over. This peeling works on its first pass every time. It will even peel butternut squash! Kuhn Rikon designed this peeler for even peeling the softest fruits, like kiwi and tomatoes. This will peel a tomato! My fellow chefs at work ask to use it everyday, as it is superior to the many other "house" peelers. I am buying another one as a backup because it is that great. I should also add that it is serrated, so it will affect the look and presentation of the food peeled, if that may be a concern. Also be aware that it is so sharp that you can cut yourself reaching in your drawer, or while cleaning it. Like any great kitchen tool, use caution and you will agree that this peeler is amazing!!! UPDATE: I'm buying more of these because everyone at work asks to use mine. Like I stated before, if you work professionally, a smooth peeler might still be needed for a garnish, perhaps. If peeling everything, including five cases of fibrous, tough asparagus or with no problem squash or root vegatables is a chore, this is the only one to buy. I know a peeler might seem like a small tool, but this little tool makes short work of things that should only be that. Five easy stars for this one

The name says it all Piranha is the SHARPEST peeler we've ever found. And have been using them exclusively for the past 3 years. Blade stays sharp long after others give out. Perfect for daily use and dishwasher safe. Dare I say the peeler all others should be judged by

I saw this peeler on a cooking show, and decided it may be the best choice when I'm peeling mangoes or peaches, to keep the most flesh while peeling just the skin. It worked like magic! The peeler was easy to grab (the gripper is so comfortable and user-friendly), the metal had a little serrated, not totally smooth, blade, and cut through the fruit's skin with so little effort! I have a few other peelers I've been loyal to over the years, but I was very impressed by this product! One of my other favorites has already gotten rusty, despite my hand washing it. This one has gotten no rust in the time I've been using it. I think it'll be hard for this one to be beat out in my "favorite peeler" contest!

I blame myself for not reading the reviews first, that damn sticker over the blade I understand is there for protection, but it was that hard to get off I made the mistake of trying to take it off with my fingers (instead of the edge of a knife or something), and cut my thumb deeply like straight away. Those serrated teeth on that blade are RAZOR sharp. If you make the mistake of pressing flesh onto them (like a finger), you will cut yourself straight away. That peeler needs a sleeve or something to protect against those teeth. I'm sure it will do a great job peeling, IF you're really careful about keeping your fingers away from those teeth, and that applies to washing it. If you make the mistake of grabbing it by the peeler end by mistake, you'll cut yourself immediately. Good peeler, poor packaging.

this was purchased to replace my old and tired kitchen aid peeler. it's amazing how such inexpensive item helps in your prep work. it's sharp and ergonomic, the glide is smooth and very comfortable, 5 stars all around for design and functionality. i will get another one for fruit peeling and save this one for the veg. quality still exists!
