Amazing replacement for default paddle. No doubt KitchenAid mixers are built like Sherman tanks the only problem is if they were building Sherman tanks they would forget about the seat that's what this is like when you run the mixer with the KitchenAid supplied paddle you could potentially damage something or get hurt yourself this paddle is unbelievable because it scrapes the bowl all mixing ingredients sit in the middle of the mixing bowl but above the paddle. The reason you could get hurt with supplied paddle is because you could run into a situation where dough gets trapped behind the paddle and the mixing bowl itself and that causes massive problems most instructions say turn off the mixer and scrape the sides yourself with this replacement paddle there's no need to do anything other than mix and the first time I used it for pizza dough I could not believe how well gluten Network was built the only thing I regret is I bought the wrong size the first time around so the only thing I can say is compare your existing paddle with a photograph of what you plan on buying or even the overall length of yours which you already own compared to the overall length of what you're trying to buy.

It's plastic. I thought it would be metal like all of the other attachment blades for kitchen aid. It bends a little and feels like I could break it with my bare hands (I'm not very strong). I think this should have been mentioned in the description. I'm not very thrilled. to be fair though I haven't used it yet either. I will update this review after I have tested it out. My concern is that it will break if used with anything thicker such as cookie batter or potatoes. If I had known it was plastic I wouldn't have ordered it. They make it sound like it is Kitchen Aid brand, but it is not. Update 5/2026 Admittedly I have not used this loads, but I have used it and had it for many years now in a tropical climate. It does work well and the silicone has not degraded into a sticky mess either.

I bought this because my original was scraping the bowl and leaving trace aluminum marks.

Works just like it should, no complaints on this. Shipping was fast. Fit is perfect.

We got confirmation from the "Make sure this fits" feature on this page that this beater blade would work with our specific model KitchenAid mixer before purchasing, but the blade was much too tall and even adjusting our bowl height to the lowest position could not fix it. I made the mistake of cutting the bottom of the spatula edge to see if I this could get it to work, but the plastic beater still hits the bottom of the bowl. I should have just returned it, but the Amazon page said it was the right size for our mixer and I wanted to get it to work. Now I can't return it because I cut it - that was my bad because I needed to use it right away - but do not trust this product. Just because it says it will fit doesn't mean it will. Buyer beware. Also, it is made of cheap seaming plastic. A complete waste of $30.

This this is the second mixer paddle KA – 5L that I have purchased. When they’re new, they work great, the rubber scraper on the edge is really wonderful when you’re making icing. However, they are made of plastic. The first one broke within the first year, the second one lasted just over five years. I am now going to invest in an aluminum paddle with rubber blades instead of another plastic one. Please note this paddle is for the non-tip KitchenAid mixer. It is for the stand mixer.

Fit my Kitchenaid Pro450 perfectly. I like it better than the all metal one that came with the mixer. The metal one didn’t quite touch the sides whereas this one with rubber on it scrapes the sides nicely, and I can put it in the dishwasher. I found out the hard way that the original one was not dishwasher safe. This is actually my second one. The first did break at the handle after about 5 years of almost daily use so I would consider that pretty durable.

Used for an hour or two so far. Had to lower the bowl a bit so the rubber didn’t have too much tension. Works better that the OEM paddle. Update: Well, 6 months of use and it broke where it connects to the mixer. Not strong enough. I thought the rubber would wear out first. Really like how it works, but needs reinforcement in design.

My wife loves this paddle... she uses it all the time and will probably never go back to the original Kitchen Aid paddle that came with the mixer. It nicely scrapes the side of the bowl. In fact, this is our 2nd one. I broke, (yes I take full responsibility..) the 1st one when trying to mix bread dough because I couldn’t find the dough hook. This paddle works well for what it was designed for... lighter batters like cookie dough, etc.

This paddle works much better than the metal one that my stand mixer came with. It's also dishwasher safe. I found with the metal one, it would always leave my hands black so I can't imagine what it was depositing into my food. This one lightly scrapes the sides of the bowl so that everything mixes well and is easy to take on and off.

Don't know why I waited so long to get this! No scarping of the bowl. My mixer is Professional HD from Costco several years ago. Look on the bottom of your mixer for the serial number to make sure it will fit your mixer. Highly recommended. It's plastic, but seems very sturdy.
