Rats find these irresistible.
I couldn’t catch a rat that invaded the chicken coop area with any conventional traps ( glue, snap, homemade spinner) I got these and just put them into the tunnel entrances. The rat couldn’t resist these tasty morsels as they’d disappear shortly after I’d put them down the hole. I found the rat 5 days later dead half way out of an entrance. Great product.

It does work, but give it time
Okay, I waited a bit to do this review until I could figure out if it worked. So here we go, the GOOD, BAD and UGLY!!In summary, this all came about because my lemon tree was taking a beating from the rats, even with wrapping the bottom portion of the lemon tree with tin and cutting it up, I forgot how high they can jump!! therefore still getting in to the tree. As for this product, I bought because the usual little plastic houses with bait were not working. Traps they figured away to get around and avoid and quite frankly with rats, I don't have much patience and don't want a takeover!! I found pretty good reviews on this product but could not find in local stores (the usual popular hardware/garden places. I liked the fact the bait is pellet size and easy to place on fence line leading up to lemon tree and also along other fence line where I saw evidence of rat droppings. I placed 7-8 pellets out and would be gone the next day. Continued to do it each time I noticed the pellets gone. AFTER about 4-5 days pellets were no longer being eaten in 2 different areas and a few days later I did in fact have two dead rats near my lawn (the ugly, I guess but easy to clean up).It appears it is finally slowing down although I still put pellets out in the areas where I noticed pellets gone the next morning for control. (by the way squirrels dont bother and I have it tucked in discreet areas). Not sure where the rest are dying but does not matter, at least the lemon tree has been left alone now for quite sometime!! SO inclosing:Good: It works, but keep replacing as it does not work in just one feeding. (This is why I only gave 4 stars as I wish it would work quicker.).BAD: You may or may not end up with dead rat in your yard, or maybe they will die off somewhere else.I like the convenience of the 4 pound bag. I will also put some pellets in the plastic housings I have from past purchases and quickly check to ensure some pellets in there everyday. In short it does work, but keep providing them the pellets!! I am just glad I'm not picking up anymore destroyed lemons off the ground!!!

It works
Yes it does work! It has been a week and it wiped out all the rodents we had at our country house. Its not for those faint of heart as many were found staggering around prior to their demise- but it definitely works.

It did nothing so far :(
I rarely low-rate stuff. This time though an urgent need (to get rid of the pests) clashed with a real disappointment. We got a bag of poison a month ago. One star because the rats were crazy about those green balls and the trays with those had to be refilled every couple of days. These are packrats, rodents that I believe had to be affected by the poison like others. Yes I'm aware they store a lot of food but they do have to eat in the meantime, don't they?So the five days had passed and we tried to be patient... meaning lathering all the corners with undiluted peppermint oil and occasionally spraying it in the face of the pests that kept growing bolder and sometimes would run straight at us. The rat trap didn't work either. The beasts were too fast to just hit with a poker... it went on and on.Seems like there were only two of them but trust me they can ruin a whole household. One evening I was chasing one of them with the spray bottle. It jumped into the speaker, and my partner grabbed some notebooks to block two holes in it. We carried the whole thing outside and put rocks on top of those. After a week the scratching was over and he threw the dead thing out. At this point I don't give a rat's rear about any "humane" way to get rid of them. Because the second rat is still there, up until this day, causing trouble :( The bag of poison is long gone and the rat is still alive. How many bags will it take to kill just one?I don't know where the exact glitch is. I was already feeling a tad anxious when other reviewers warned about the dreaded five days before the poison kicks in. But a whole month and no result is truly frustrating. There aren't many pests, just these two. I don't want this place to be in shambles because of the one stupid packrat left which no one is able to destroy. Patience doesn't feel appropriate. Ick.

Patience leads to results
This product teaches you patience. If you can wait the 3-5 days, you will have a new game called how many did we find dead today? And then you will be grossed out because where there is one rat, there are guaranteed to be more! Very easy to use, I just poured 4-5 at a time into the tunnel holes I found. I did this morning and night. In areas I knew they were in but didn't have tunnel openings to burrows, I placed on the ground directly and leaned something to block them so to speak. If you see the bait gone, refill till it's been sitting for a couple days. I've added some bait to our laundry room as well because it's a basement and seems to attract mice. Excellent product! I don't want to have to purchase again but if I do need it, this is what I will use!
