This shows the Evolution of Scientific Opinion from ~1980-2005, eroding with science the confidence in Evolutionary Theory, which even Darwin refuted repeatedly and publically before he died.

Unlocking The Mystery Of Life refers back to Darwin's writings of one hundred fifty years ago and leads us through recent discoveries of the complexity of cell functions and components. Along the way we have Dr. Dean Kenyon who in the 1960's had written the definitive work on the chemical version of evolution, that has been widely used in colleges and graduate schools. Kenyon's textbook was "Biochemical Predestination". Given the scientific discoveries in molecular biology and genetics of the last twenty years, Dr. Dean Kenyon and other scientists in this video (Stephen Meyer, Michael Behe, Jonathan Wells, Scott Minnich, Paul Nelson, and William Dembski) have completely discarded Darwin's Theory of Evolution.Two examples of Darwin Theory's failure given in the video are the thousands of different complex molecular machines that interrelate in the cell's manufacturing processes as well as the detailed programming instructions for those machines.The video uses computer-generated animation showing the building of these machines from amino acids into proteins, and finally the particular machine structure and function itself. The machine example in the video is a relatively simple one: the bacteria flagellum - specifically, the "outboard motor" assembly that runs the 100 thousand RPM tail of the bacteria.The "modern" Darwin scientist counter argument of "co-option" is also addressed. These different machines could not have been built slowly over time as Darwin's Theory of "functional advantage" requires a complete and immediate working component. Plus the fact that most of the parts within these machines are unique only to those machines, and could not have been borrowed from another machine within the same cell. This has been termed "irreducible complexity"... Where did this complete motor assembly come from? From the detailed blueprints of the nucleus' DNA for the proteins (machines) to build these other machines that are needed by the cell.The next logical and scientific question, of course, is "Where did these final, complete and complex programming instructions come from?"It's this last question that Darwin Evolutionists refuse to answer, because they have no answer for it. There is no "natural cause" that produces information. A detailed and error-free computer program of billions of instructions doesn't just "show up" on the beach one day. That anyone would accuse this documentary of religious slant didn't watch this, or ironically, watched this with an anti-theistic slant; the theist nor atheist need be concerned about the topic of God to watch this, yet merely ask yourself the questions posed herein... no one in the film mentioned the word 'GOD'... ever. Religion is simply a red herring to keep you from watching this. This doc is simply a refutation of Darwin's evolutionary systems (if one were to read Darwin, what naturally would be the alternative?)... which admittedly in the film only explains adaptation, but does not explain the origin and order of life on the cellular/molecular level; in fact, it fails.If you would like to refute or rebut the video with an atheistic/non-intelligent design position... that's on you, that's fine and by all means do so and any scientist or philosopher would welcome the skepticism with open arms for the sake of knowledge... but the arguments in this video are not religious (there are non-theist scientists and philosophers in the video), they simply infer intelligence at the center of our reality... you may assume it's God or an alien or whatever (you would have a separate argument and a different documentary for that), but the documentary supports intelligence, but does not point you to any specific god or religion. As Molecular Biologist Scott Minnich says in the documentary 'We can't explain these systems by natural law... you go where the data leads you... and the implications have profound metaphysical implications... so be it'.This is truly fascinating, whether or not you want to presuppose God or there is no intelligent design (both would be mistakes).Irreducible complexity, proteins and amino acids, their functionality and the astonishing amount of information in DNA.

This is a great DVD! You are first presented with a good foundation of Darwin's ideas and theory of natural selection and evolution, with visuals coming from the Galapagos Islands. Then they artfully use Darwin's own words and the problems that arise with "irreducible complexity" to show how intelligence is necessary for there to be even a DNA code that allows replication of cells. Intelligent Design is presented without any reference to God, religion or the Bible. Creationism has no part in this presentation, is not mentioned and would only be a corollary reasoning from the Bible. Whereas Intelligent Design starts solely from scientific questions arising from what is observed at microbial levels.Darwin's words set the litmus test for what would disprove his theory and recent knowledge of cellular biology (unknown in Darwin's day) fulfill his own conclusion of what could prove him wrong.It is utterly a fantastic visual experience, with excellent computer graphics of cellular processes, good production quality and clear reasoning. Michael Behe and other established researchers/scientists come together to compose the sound reasoning that leads to Intelligent Design.You needn't fear being exposed to a single religious reference. This is for those deep intellects who want real answers.No one will be uncomfortable watching this and you will not be asked to park your brain at the door.Those who don't like scientific documentaries or detailed explanations might find it hard to track with but otherwise, this is no lightweight.Watch it! And invite your friends.

Superb examination of the widely-accepted theory of evolution, that teaches that one kind of creature can slowly turn into a completely different kind over time.Non-religious people can relax: the film sticks to proper open-minded science and looks at the micro-biological evidence that was not available to evolutionist Charles Darwin 150 years ago.Impressive DVD.Will watch again every few months to glean info I've missed.

I have always thought that Darwins theory of how life started was totally wrong. Looking at this DVD.has proved to me beyond doubt that I was right. Looking at the variation of all aspects of living creatures, plants, birds, insects sea creatures there is so much variation that I feel it would be impossible that all came from one organism. The scientists have proved beyond doubt that life started with intelligent design. So I found this account of the origin of life fascinating and making common sense.

I love this DVD. It's thought-provoking, and you can tell Michael Behe knows his stuff. Shame he's had so much trouble from hard-core evolutionists who can't see past their own toes. If this logic and research was about any other subject, they would probably applaud him. I do.

WATCHED THIS WITH AN OPEN MIND ....AND WASNT LET DOWN, BY THE LOGICAL CONCLUSIONS THE EXPERTS HAVE REASONED WITH, AND THEN EXPLAINED TO US IN THIS VERY GOOD DVD

Watched it with my 12 yr old son as home educator learning and found it great, I went to sleep, he watched it over and over.
