THS WORKS when nothing else did. This product is amazing. It cleared my dry scalp after one or two shampoos. I use it with every shower, and it takes very little to do the job. I won't buy anything else.

My scalp was severely inflamed after a vacation that consisted of daily swimming in pools, the ocean and keeping my hair damp for hours. Despite using chlorine removal shampoo my scalp had enough. My scalp was on fire with itching that scratching never satisfied and I had developed a couple painful wet scabs. I tried to wash more frequently and treat with ACV, rosemary oil and regular H&S but it didn't provide lasting relief or heal the scabs. My scalp was pleading for something else. I came upon Clinical Strength H&S and purchased the shampoo and conditioner bundle. I was familiar with the smell of selenium sulfide as I had to use it when I was a kid in the Rx form once. Yes, if you have read other reviews the scent is more medicinal but it worked with 2 treatments with washings about 5 days apart. I lifted my scalp with a fine tooth comb and washed with the clinical shampoo and the conditioner. It did sting a little bit because I had scratched my scalp and the sores were open so you may want to wait a few hours or overnight if you choose to do this. 3 days after my first treatment, I had huge, dry flakes but there was no itch and my scabs were healing. I'm guessing the seborrheic dermatitis/malasseezia yeast that was on my scalp dried up. I lifted the scalp again and washed my hair and this time I had no itching, no dandruff flakes, no scabs!!! I'm about 5 days from my last wash and I'm flake free and itch free. My scalp feels renewed. Btw, as an African American woman with a 4b hair type, I cannot wash my hair daily. It would severely dry out my hair. So this is promising for anyone who needs to wait a few days between washes. This product continues to work throughout the week. My scalp is now calm and I can just use it as needed going forward. I am very pleased!!

So, I read plenty of the reviews on this product about how terrible the smell is. Although I was appalled, I chose to make the purchase anyway and I'm happy I did! This shampoo and conditioner smells terrible. It does dissipate when your hair is dry but you can still smell a residual light scent. I do have to say when my scalp starts to sweat the smell of the shampoo comes back heavy. So I was using the regular head and shoulders and still having some flakiness and itchiness. So I decided to try out the clinical strength stuff and honestly I can say that even after my head does sweat it doesn't become itchy like it did before. I can go probably a week in between washes with the head and shoulders clinical strength as where before I would have to use the head and shoulders every other day. So at this point I'm washing once a week with the clinical strength Head and shoulders and washing my hair with other products on other days. I did find somewhat of remedy for if you have a very sweaty scalp. Since the smell is very pungent I've been using dry shampoo to help eliminate some of the smell of the product and that's definitely been helping! Overall, I recommend making the purchase! The product is highly effective and I actually like the texture of the cream conditioner. My only complaint would be about the smell but it's manageable and to be itchy, flake free and stress-free about the condition of your scalp is worth dealing with a slightly unpleasant aroma.

I have a sensitive scalp and deal with occasional dandruff flare-ups, so I’m always careful with stronger anti-dandruff formulas. This shampoo does a good job reducing flakes and removing buildup — my scalp feels very clean and refreshed after using it. That said, I’ve found it works best for me as a once-a-week treatment rather than a daily shampoo. When I use it too frequently, my scalp becomes a bit irritated. During heavier dandruff phases it helps somewhat, but it’s not a complete solution on its own. Used in rotation with a gentler shampoo, it’s effective for maintenance and keeping flakes under control. It lathers well and a little goes a long way, so the bottle lasts quite a while. Overall, a solid option — just not ideal for everyday use on sensitive scalps. Good for this price. The bottle is well packed and does not leak.

As someone who’s had flaky scalp for years, finding a product was difficult. Flaky scalp + oily roots + dry mid-ends made it harder . I also hesitated in trying multiple different products because I didn’t want multiple products affecting/damaging my hair or making things worse. I used the regular head & shoulders shampoo & conditioner before & that helped to an extent. There was still some flakes right out of the shower. Then I saw this product, figured I’ve had okay results with their regular stuff, not great but okay, so let’s try it out. I bought this on July 9th. It’s August 23rd today. No flakes. My hair feels smoother & softer & lighter & hydrated after every wash. I have curly hair & I can run my fingers through my wet & dry curls with little to no tangles. I don’t usually write reviews but this product deserves it because I know someone out there is struggling like I did to find something that works & is reading review after review after review like I did. I haven’t washed my hair in a week, still - no flakes, not a single one. My scalp is not even itchy, which was also one of my problems. On day 3-4 after a wash, my scalp would be itchy & there would be a decent amount of flakes. Since using this product (shampoo & conditioner) once a week - I’ve experienced no itchiness, no flakes & my hair looks like it’s on day 2 after a wash rather than day 7. I have thin, shoulder length hair for the girlies wondering about texture & length. Some reviews mention a smell … there is a slight smell, it’s very faint, I barely notice it & I definitely don’t smell it in my hair. But I think that’s more user preference & smell sensitivity. It’s worth a try. I highly recommend getting it. A little goes a long way

This stuff is awesome!!!! For the past few months I have been having extremely dry scalp and flakes from dandruff really bad! I have tried every type of dandruff shampoo that I can think of, including the classic head and shoulders with the white bottle and the blue lid, which worked for a couple days, but then I was right back in the shower doing it all over again because my head would get so much dandruff and so dried out I would actually be able to peel some of the flakes and dead skin out of my hair. So after trying everything from the classic head and shoulders to even a shampoo that had just a little bit of tar in it supposedly to help with extreme cases it still did not work a few days ago I happen to do some major reading on reviews through Amazon, and ran into this version of head and shoulders. I will admit that I was extremely skeptical. But I figured hey I’ve already tried everything else so why not try this and see what happens. By the first use was it perfect absolutely not but do you know that instant relief feeling when you know something’s working? I got that just a few minutes after jumping out of the shower after using this for the first time and it was amazing ever since then I’ve been using it every two days as the bottle instructions and it’s been doing a great job. I am no longer feeling like it is snowing for my head. The shampoo has literally saved me embarrassment, and so much itching great job head and shoulders. Keep it up. PS it’s a product that still works really well and still has a great scent for once. 🙂

Good for the dandruff issue. Also works for seborrheic dermatitis. Easy to use. Good deal for two bottles.
