A Berry Blend that works for me
I started adding bulk supplements to my diet recently. My father passed away in his mid fifties. My grandfather, and his father, passed away in their mid fifties too, so I sort of expected the same. All from heart attacks...so it was a concern. I had read some interesting articles on improving heart health by increased consumption of berries and decided to give it a try.I blend fresh 1/4 cup each blackberries, blueberries, strawberries and rasberries and about 20 red grapes with 1 cleaned stalk of celery and raw purple cabbage, 10 grams of Bulk Supplements White Mulberry, 20 grams of Bulk Supplements Blueberry Extract, 20 grams of Beet Elite and 20 grams of Bulk Supplements Beet Extract and a scoop of Green Superfoods with about 5 oz of carrot juice and a bunch of ice. I take this 30-35 minutes before my daily run when I can, or immediately after. It seems to work best before - if I can give it the 30 minutes before starting. I had tried beet juice before, and got good results, tried beet elite before, got good results...but this concoction is delicious, and seems to work really well.If just 20% of the articles are true, then my next check-up I'm hoping for under 150 serum cholesterol total (I'm at 180 now) stable blood pressure (been borderline high) and lower blood sugar (borderline high, but not diabetic)..we'll see. I'm at the 60 marker, so I've already passed 3 generations in longevity, hoping to set a new standard.Bulk supplements are good powder form, and for the amount I take, quite economical. Grocery store Blueberries, Blackberries, and Rasberries are a bit pricey, and this increases berry consumption with a lot less $.The packaging is in foil sealing bags that tend to be difficult, a bit tricky, but I throw the foil bag inside a Gallon Ziploc bag with a slidelock and made it easy for me. So, even when the foil lock doesn't stay engaged. the ziploc keeps it fresh.

An Economic Blueberry Extract
Blueberries have come up a lot in health research. In the summer months, they are abundant and (relatively) cheap. They get less so in the autumn. I opted for nutrition value over taste (though blueberries are one of my favorite fruits). I have reason to believe this powder is what it's advertised to be -- and it's a better deal than the other products I looked at. The 4:1 extract is cheaper than those whole blueberry powders, and presumably it goes further. Cost-wise, capsules are often not the way to go.This powder is a deep purpley blue. It has a dried fruit/ fruit powder smell that doesn't particularly remind me of fresh blueberries, but that's too be expected. The taste is mild. Some dried fruits (dates, prunes) can make me gag, but this is just fine. It mixes readily enough with smoothie or soaked cereal. (I have some cheap frozen blueberries in my blender-mix, too.)A lot of supplements -- and some foods -- seem to have some effect on energy even when I am using them for quite unrelated reasons. Blueberries tend to be an energizer in a good way. I used probaly a tad bigger server of this than the label said. (More often I use less of things.)

Blueberries are good for you, so I will continue to take this.
This is good, very berry colored. Not gritty and not much flavor. Not sure if it is helping but I will continue to take it. I've been taking it for a couple months but haven't seen any different results but know that blueberries are good for you.

Blueberry Extract
Blueberries are a fruit that contain a lot of molecules called anthocyanins. These antioxidant compounds are often supplemented for their ability to improve cognition.Blueberries are a small, blue-purple fruit that belong to the genus vaccinium, which also includes cranberries and bilberries.Blueberries are a popular food and frequently supplemented. The antioxidant and anthocyanin content of blueberries makes them particularly effective at reducing cognitive decline, supporting cardiovascular health, protecting the liver, and reducing liver fat buildup.Blueberries may also have a potential Nootropic effect. They have been found to improve cognition in people undergoing cognitive decline, but there is also some rodent evidence that suggests blueberries can improve cognition in healthy young people as well. They may also have a role to play in promoting the growth of nervous tissue and reducing neurological inflammation.Blueberries can be eaten or supplemented through blueberry powder. Isolated anthocyanins are also an effective supplement. Blueberries are both a food product and dietary supplement.Blueberries can be supplemented through a blueberry extract, isolated anthocyanins, or frozen or fresh blueberries. The optimal dose for blueberry extract is 5.5 – 11g, with the higher end of the dose being more effective. The optimal range for isolated anthocyanin supplementation is 500-1,000mg. The optimal dose for blueberry extract translates to approximately 60-120g of fresh berries.Blueberries should be eaten or supplemented daily. They are best stored in cold environments, like a refrigerator. Blanching blueberries is known to increase anthocyanin bioavailability, but excessive heat treatment or exposure will degrade the anthocyanin content.
