A new fan of these workouts
I recently got a recommendation to check out workout dvds by Jessica Smith. I have been wanting to try something new because a certain workout company (BB) is making it harder to get their workouts on dvd, not to mention that during the workout, they try to sell other products, which gets a little annoying after hearing it every time one works out. I don't want to depend on (and continually pay for) streaming and I have found other products (like meal replacement shakes) that work just as well for less money. I can't completely knock them though, because they are the first workouts I ever stuck with and I had some success with them in the past. But I still wanted to try something new, maybe something a little different, and see if I could get similar results. So after researching and looking at reviews for Jessica Smith workout dvds (which impressed me by how many great reviews all of the dvds had), I decided to buy these three -https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M6ATZSG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00W85TAHE/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GKKXXG6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1I have to say that they did not disappoint, at all!! After only using them for almost a couple of months, I can easily say with confidence that they all work! These are my new favorite workouts! I love them all for different reasons. I mainly use the Walk Off Belly Fat dvd as my main workout for the week, throwing in a yoga section from the Gentle Yoga dvd if I have the time that day. First off, I like the prices of her dvds. The other company's prices were very high compared to hers (that is, if they were actually selling the workouts on dvd). The main thing I like about her dvds though is how upbeat and motivational she is during the workouts and she does every single second of the workout with the rest of us! She is motivational without being pushy (not a big fan of pushy instructors). I appreciate how different levels of the routine are offered so if you are a beginner (or feeling like lower impact that day), intermediate (middle ground), or advanced (or would like a challenge that day), all levels are truly covered. I also appreciate the feeling that she is not all or nothing (which I felt like was the motto of most of the instructors of the other workout company - not all but most). Her exercises work without being grueling. I'm honestly not a big fan of exercise and in the past, I had to talk myself into exercising for the day, but with her workouts, I don't mind pushing play. And after most of her workouts, I don't feel like I'm exhausted, but rather energized so it doesn't make me dread having to workout for the day. By incorporating these dvds with a calorie counting app, I have lost the most weight I ever have. So she definitely has a new fan in me! I definitely recommend this dvd and I will be buying more of her dvds in the future (and cancelling the other company's streaming service)!

A well-rounded program to help reduce belly fat
How many of us have flat stomachs? Not many, I would guess; and most of us are looking for ways to flatten our abs and reduce belly fat. Well, this DVD may just be the answer for you.Jessica, her Mom and Raquel are dressed in bright colored tops. As usual, Debbie is doing the easier version of moves, Raquel is doing the advanced version and Jessica is doing something in between.A very nice feature of this DVD is the on screen tips about losing belly fat.The sections of the DVD are:Warm UpFlat Abs Power WalkBelly Fat Blasting Interval WalkBelly Blasting Strength TrainingCool Down. You can play all the sections or do the premixes, all of which include the warm up and cool down.WARM UP – 5 minutesI love having the warm up as a separate section since sometimes I am coming off another workout and don’t need this warm up.Some of the fun moves include: heel walk, hip and knee circles and squat with row.FLAT ABS POWER WALK – 45 minutesThis is a 3 mile walk. Some of the fun moves include: side step with arm wrap, skater tap with elbow jab, kickboxing and V step with figure 8 arms.BELLY FAT BLAST INTERVALS – 30 minutesThis is a 2 mile walk. There are 6 5 minute intervals that alternate steady state moves with intervals. Some of the fun moves include: jump rope shuffle, side step with chest fly, knee lift with arcing arms and long arm skater tap.BELLY BLASTING STRENGTH TRAINING – 20 minutesYou’ll need 2 16 ounce water bottles or light dumbbells. There is both standing and floor work. Some of the fun moves include: dead lift with curl and overhead press, split leg with diagonal shoulder raise, plie reach/row, single side lying bike and one-sided spider.COOL DOWN – 5 minutesThis is a nice relaxing section with deep breathing, easy moves and shoulder rolls. This is such a fun way to work your abs. It doesn’t feel like exercise!

VERY simple, Very encouraging. Good for new exercisers, older, or recovering.
Negatives: It really is just variations on walking. 3 miles. Definitely on the boring side if you have exercised before. However,Positives: She does try to keep it mixed, has 3 levels of activity, 1 is her mother, which is sweet and friendly and neighborly, so a plus for beginners, older, recovering from something. If you don't have a treadmill, have to stay indoors for any reason, it provides some incentive and company that will get you doing something. She also gives some tips on other health aspects, talks about and changes heart rates, and there are 3 segments to choose from.
