The name says 400mg, but the description says 250mg. Which is it?

Both! Ionic drug compounds can have their doses expressed in two ways depending on whether you're counting the full mass of the drug compound (Magnesium+Oxide) or just the pure elemental Magnesium present. So each capsule contains 400mg of "Magnesium Oxide", of which ~241mg is pure elemental magnesium.

Saw the comments about harsh odor. june 20 i receive a bottle with very strong ammonia or bleach smell!!!! i ask for refund. where should i order?

I ordered from here too and also received a tainted bottle smelling like Ammonia. LOT #2438025 exp. JULY 2023. After extensive research it narrows down to bottles that maybe improperly stored in extreme heat.

This is the second bottle I have purchases. Both bottle have foul odor. Is this normal?

I had the same experience. I have taken this priduct for many years . I think it is related to the change in ‘label’! The new bottle /Nature Made, was sold with a different design label, and came with 110 gel caps instead of 150. As soon as I took the lid off , whoa! Very strong order! I am going to order the 150 caps bottle with ‘old’ label, and see if there is a difference.
