Best I shaver have used
Although not a cheap item, I am glad I took the plunge and purchased this mighty machine. It is a substantial product and in a good way. It fills the hand reassuringly and is for me nicely ergonomic. Grip is good, and I particularly like that the head can be in one of several fixed positions or left 'loose' to follow the contours of my face, giving me some of the best shaves I have ever experienced. It is quite loud, so best to close the bathroom door or risk waking other members of the household on a Sunday morning (it really is not too bad, quite easy to live with)! I like the cleaning station - it makes care of this shaver a simple affair. The station is quite a noisy beast (it sets the shaver working several times over a few minutes as part of the cleaning process) and then blow dries and recharges the shaver. I personally save on cleaning fluid by manually cleaning the shaver with a small brush to get rid of most bristle build-up, then placing the shaver in the station for a clean. After the process is finished, I remove the fluid cartridge from the staion and reseal it to avoid the contents evaporating. One cartridge can last for quite some time this way depending on frequency of cleans. I am pleased with this item. Yes, replacement heads are quite pricey, but so are all the various manufacturers' replacement cutters. At least with Braun it seems you get a good deal of use from the original head (I have owned this shaver for some time now, and it still cuts cleanly). I certainly recommend this product. Before this I used a rotary shaver for many years and I will not be going back to that system again.

Perfect for face and head.
I have never been a fan of electric shavers, but after deciding I wanted to fully shave my head as well as my face, I started looking into what to buy. It was too much hassle to wet shave so after plenty of research, I opted for this shaver over dedicated skull shavers. After wet shaving my head and face I let the hair grow for 3 days. I performed a face and head shave with my newly purchased shaver and am amazed by the results. Time wise it took roughly half the time. Visibly I couldn't tell the difference to a wet shave. To the touch it was almost the same, certainly good enough for me. The cleaning station works well, although it isn't essential as you can easily clean it manually. I am thoroughly happy with my purchase.

It is an excellent rechargeable battery powered razor.
In comparing the Series 9 Pro with the Braun Series 7 which I have used for many years, the Series 9 Pro has a much bigger shaving head with a bigger facial contact area which makes it very comfortable in use, much more so than the Series 7. The 9 Pro has an additional brass coloured cutter. However, I have not found the 9 Pro to be more effective as a razor than the Series 7 it is just nicer to use. The updated cleaning system does seem to be more effective than that originally supplied several years ago with the Series 7, although there were no instructions about how to use the ‘Smart’ feature.

First foil razor which actually works for me!
I've had several different Braun foil razors over the years but I always found that unless you shave every single day, they tend to leave stray uncut hairs especially on the upper neck where they tend to lay flat. Thankfully this is the first Braun I've tried which seems to cope quite well with that and I don't find I have to do a quick second pass with a razor to get the ones it missed. It's expensive but it's noticably better than their sub-£100 models. The battery also seems to last forever.

so impressed if I could I would buy the company
I have had the Braun series 7 for a number of years and liked it a lot, it was getting a bit tired and tatty (it's 10 years old) so I decided to get a new one and saw the 9pro and the price was good with the cleaning station. Wow it's so much better than I was expecting. It shaves so close even better than my old trusty series 7. No skin irritation or razor burn and it's lighter and quieter too small differences I know, you can also use it in the shower if that's your thing Bottom line it's a great shave

Shaves Well, Reasonably Quiet, Trimmer Could Be Better
I saw that this model came out on top in consumer report tests in both the UK and in Germany, but then some of the negative reviews on Amazon got me worried. I bought it anyway and am glad I did. It is a big improvement over my earlier Braun (790), offering a much better shave. It is also a lot quieter. One detail that could be better is the pop-out trimmer. It is harder to use and less precise than that on the earlier model.

Don't buy it
Honestly it's awful. Doesn't shave at all, I've had it since may. Used it 3 times and it's broke.

If your on the fence then hopefully this helps!
I am not a big fan of shaving but i do like a smooth finish, with this in mind i have been using a multi bladed wet shave systems for a few years before going back to electric. I have used a few different types of electric in the past with the 3 rotary head type being the worst for me as it never got really close and caused irritation (even with the high end series ones equivalent to this) I’ve also used a simple dual foil razor recently that got surprisingly close but did again cause irritation. So i looked at this but with the price being so high I was a little hesitant but eventually i took the plunge and have not regretted it yet! So the instructions suppled are rubbish for a supposedly £500 razor and the razor display itself is also a little outdated compared to the oled screens used on a certain toothbrush. The razor shows the charge level and cleaning reminder when done but now days i would expect better (charge level, live shaving time remaining, head change, cleaning status) the cleaning station is simple and you only get one cartridge with the package. The instructions for the cleaning station are also very poor and appears you only have the one choice of cleaning level manually selectable. I believe the razor will tell the station what level of cleaning is needed but I’m not sure. All this aside the actual shave is superb as you can see from the video i have left it three days and the series 9 just sails through with no bogging down or snatching of hairs it just glides through and gives a shave as close as wet without the hassle. It really does give a very close shave and quickly without irritation, it is easy to get a finish that leaves no feeling of stubble when running you hand against the grain. The only slight niggle is the head is so big that when doing your upper lip you can stick your lip in between the foils -although when I’ve done this it hasn’t cut the lip or grabbed it like you expect it to It’s expensive yes but it does give a superb shave
