Neato Robotics Botvac 80 Vacuum Cleaner With Scheduling; Grey (Renewed)

I usually don't write reviews. If a product is doing what it's supposed to do there's nothing newsworthy about that. Only when i feel strongly about the product, either good or bad, do I feel compelled to review it.We have had this vacuum for a week and I am in AWE of its ability to navigate rooms. The programmers at Neato really did an excellent job. The vac goes through each room and covers pretty much every square inch. We were using a vacuum that navigates with random movements and we got tired of the vac consistently missing some spots while going over other spots repeatedly. The Neato systematically covers every spot in a room. We love it's ability to stop, charge up and resume where it left off. It has gotten stuck in a couple of places where it can't figure out how to reverse it's recent movements, but that is rare. It has done an awesome job going through the legs of our dining room chairs and has vacuumed areas the random bot never touched.It does a very good job picking up our three cats' fur. (Be aware that the opening to the dirt bin is small and can get plugged if there is a lot of hair to pick up.) With this vac, our carpet is noticeably cleaner.The battery life seems to be very good. Our old random bot would go for about an hour. So far, the Neato has been going 80 to 85 minutes before going back to the charger.The noise level is a bit higher than our old random bot but definitely less than our cordless Hoover and a LOT less than our Shark Rotater. You may need to turn up the TV a bit if it's across the room but it's easy to have a normal conversation.Things I wish it had but are unreasonable to expect:1. Larger dirt bin, but there's only a limited amount if space available.2. Wi-fi connectivity, remote and/or mobile app. For the price of the bot I can't expect these. If I really wanted them i need to pay more.Even without these features, the bot does exactly what it was designed to do: clean your floors to save you time and effort. In this respect, I think that the Neato 80 is the absolute best vac in it's price range.

I am sorry I was able to directly assist.Regarding the vision issue it is typically caused by dust, below is what Neato suggests to resolve the issue.Make sure the protective screen film has been fully removed and is not peeling up and blocking the robot’s vision. Wipe the surface off with a soft cloth. Using a soft Q-Tip, please spin the laser 5 times in each direction being careful to avoid the openings for the laser and IR sensor. First, it will not do your work for you. You must clean the house , wet cleaning .It will , though, keep it clean!!!It collects dust pretty good!!!It is quiet!!!And most importantly, if you have a baby to feed or pump , it will give you a nice time frame to do so without bothering you with mopping the floor !!!!I absolutely love it .One con is the price. Its not cheap!

It worked real good for the first couple of months, then it started giving me a message to replace the dust bin. I thought maybe it needed new filters, bought them, and still get the same thing. It won't work and it's only about 3 months old.

Very good bot vac. The suction is very very good along with the bin size for trash. The reason I gave it 3 stars is, it got stuck EVERYWHERE. It was also having a very hard time clearing certain pieces of furniture in our home. We have all tile in our home. There would be times that the vac would get “stuck” and error, when its a clear path along the wall. This vac might be perfect for a very bare room.
