Taylor of Old Bond Street Sandalwood Shaving Cream Bowl, 5.3-Ounce 2PK

Wife loves the smell of this shaving cream, it is pretty gentle on the skin, would recommend for people who dont mind spending some time grooming themselves.

I've been wet shaving for about 14 years and I've tried quite a few different brands of soaps and creams at various price points; Col.Conk's, West Coast Shaving, Proraso, Sir Hare, Lather & Wood, Cremo, and others I can't remember.Taylor of Old Bond Street Sandalwood has made the best impression on me of all of them right out of the gate. I've shaved with it twice now and it's absolutely wonderful.Just a small amount on a wet, shaken-out badger brush, add just a few drops of hot water from a dripping faucet, and lather it right on your face. Has smooth, easy coverage that has staying power, and it stays put until I'm done with the first pass. Then I lather again and it does the same thing. It has a nice, creamy feel, and it feels like it's nourishing your skin.The sandalwood scent is noticeable as soon as I open the container, and it lingers on my face long after I'm done shaving. Also leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth for a long time as well.I'm very happy with this product, and I wish I had bought some years ago. I think I've finally found the brand I'll stay with for life. They make so many different scents, there can always be some variety. As long as a tub lasts, it will take me years to try them all. Every other soap I've used has shown some shortcoming by the second use, but not this stuff.UPDATE - Oct. 20, 2019 - I read some negative reviews for this product, saying it's possibly fake, smells perfumey, like chemicals, or nothing like sandalwood, etc. I don't know what they may have received, and if they did get a non-authentic product I feel for them, and say shame on Amazon.I continue to love this shave cream. It lathers beautifully whether you do it on your face, in a bowl, or in your hand. Just a little bit of the cream (way less than you may think you'll need) on the tips of your damp brush and you're good to go. Some days I get whiffs of the sandalwood scent five or six hours after I shaved, and I usually take a shower after I shave, unlike a lot of people. But when I shower after shaving with this stuff I try not to wash my face too much so I don't wash away the scent, because it smells so good to me. My face is already clean anyway, I just applied shaving soap to it twice :-). It makes my skin feel great too...smooth and nourished, like it made my skin happy.This is good stuff, maybe the best shaving cream/soap there is in my opinion, and if you're not happy with it, the only reason I can see is that you must have gotten a fake version of the product. Try ordering some from a dedicated shaving website or direct from the manufacturer and see if you like it. This stuff is too good to pass up, and is just a great product to use for something as common and ubiquitous as shaving. It can really improve a mundane, everyday part of your life and make it more enjoyable.

Definitely use a shave bowl. But all in all it will give you a real barber feel. The scent definitely is not too masculine.

At 68 years old I still enjoy a wet shave in the morning. I preheat the shave mug by filling it with tap water and placing it he microwave. The Old Bond Street shave cream makes a warm smooth lather that smells and feels great. A good value. Bob S.

I have essentially used this exclusively for several years now. It goes on so nice with a variety of brushes. The sandlewood scent is good. Don't ever think of going back to to a can.

This is my second purchase of this product. My husband wanted to try something other than the shaving cream that comes in a can. We researched using a shaving soap and he wanted to give this stuff a try. He’s hooked. The smell is clean and a little musky but not overwhelming. It lathers well and a tub of this stuff lasted him about 10 months, shaving maybe twice a week. He says he can’t go back to the stuff in a spray can.

This is a very nice thick shaving cream that wont drip. I shave my head so runny soap is not useful. It is a quality product BUT the scent has nothing to do with Sandalwood. Not even remotely close. For the price point, they nought to be more honest about the scent. Its rather sharp and almost citrus, far from the deep subtle scent of Sandalwood.

I have used the sandalwood scent of Taylor of Old Bond Street shaving cream for many years. It is far and away my favorite. It’s rich, creamy, and presents a great glide under your razor. All that with a nice scent. It’s definitely worth the price.

I really enjoy this for shaving with my straight razor. Smells great and gets the job done. Cant go wrong.

This is my husband’s favourite shaving soap. He loves the product. Unfortunately, my last order never arrived.
