This comforting collection of prayers, blessings, Franciscan wisdom, and heartwarming photos is the perfect gift for anyone who is grieving the loss of a beloved dog. Every page is filled with reassurance that we will see our animal friends in heaven. The death of a beloved animal friend can be one of the most difficult events we face, often surprising us at the depth of the grief and emotion we feel. It can be very comforting to know that the animals we love so much are safe with God, who created and loves them. Throughout his many years as a Franciscan friar, Jack Wintz came to knowโthe Bible gives us many cluesโthat we will be with our pets in heaven for eternity! St. Francis himself shared a close relationship with animals, preaching to the birds, releasing Brother Rabbit from a trap, or letting Sister Raven awaken him for early morning prayer. Franciscan spirituality tells us that all creatures form one family of creation, and Godโs plan of salvation includes the whole created world. This new, expanded edition of the original bestseller includes: Wisdom from Friar Jack in 14 short and simple readings Blessings, prayers, and stories from Scripture Special presentation page to personalize the gift Adorable photos and short memories of beloved dogs Sections of the book include: Three Prayers of Blessing The Happiness Principle Noah, the Ark, and the Dove Jonah and the Whale The Song of St. Francis Jesus and the World of Creation Praying with Creatures The Soul of a Dog With it reassuring message of Godโs eternal love and care for all creation, I Will See You in Heaven helps us to know that we are not alone in our grief, and that our โgoodbyeโ is not forever. Cover photo: Hollie Betzler (2001-2018), Michiganโs first grief therapy dog, served faithfully at her familyโs funeral home and area nursing homes for 16 years, giving a comforting paw at just the right time to just the right person. Her family anticipates her serving the same role at the gates of heaven, where she now waits for them. Review: This book helps find comfort - My favorite dog is 12, at this time, with multiple health problems. I know there are fewer days ahead of us than there are behind us. While Fr. Jack's writings have not stopped my fears and tears, he did change my way of thinking. As a child, when my family's dog died while I was about 6-7, I asked my grandmother if she thought our dog was in heaven. She said "no" because animals do not have souls. I believed that for the next 45 years. I have no children, and have been divorced twice, so my dog is my only family. I have been praying so hard that I get to see him again. Then, I found this book. I am not Catholic, and have no affinity for Catholic saints, but I am Born Again. This book provides very coherent reasoning why all of creation will continue in paradise: Man is the only creature created on earth guilty of sin, and the Bible is God's handbook for Man. Salvation is meant for humans because we are the ones headed to Hell without it. I still have questions about some animals (fish, because the new earth will not have seas, and protozoa...what about them?), and I would love to meet the author one day and ask him, but this book has provided the first glimmer of hope for me. Faith will have to carry on from there. If you are hurting over the loss of a beloved animal, read this. It helped me so much! Review: Very Helpful - I am a Christian and lots of people told me dogs don't have soul. After my boy crossed the rainbow bridge last July I have been heart broken. I want the reassurance that we will meet again. The author is very knowledgeable. All the verses he used in this book really strengthen my belief that dogs do have soul and God does want us to be together after we die. I highly recommend this book especially if you are Christian. It really is very comforting.

Brilliant Book
When I lost my best friend, soul mate, and service dog last August I was inconsolable. I have raises/trained horses and dogs for man many years and I have grieved for each and every one I lost. However, this dog was my "soul" dog (those of you who have experienced this will relate and understand). For months, I did nothing. I just existed but no longer wanted to live. I found this book on Amazon (as well as 2 others). Of the 3, this one was the best investment. As a Christian, I have always known that our dogs/pets go to heaven, so this was not something to help cement that belief. However, it was nice to have someone actually show where the bible does refer to animals in heaven and show proof to others who insist this is not so. People who don't believe this are entitled to their opinion, but I find that they need to be respectful of those who do and stop trying to hurt others by citing the bible as proof that dogs don't go to heaven when there is ample evidence in the bible that they do. Even if you don't believe it, stop being hurtful to others.. Remember, Christ was sent to save OUR souls - no other souls needed saving. If you, like me have experienced a devastating loss (this was the worst thing I have ever been through), you will find solace in this book. I highly recommend it.

All creatures are part of God's "family of creation"
Catholics are sometimes told, "animals have no souls, therefore they don't go to heaven." This book, written by a Franciscan friar, beautifully expands on the opposing idea---animals are part of the whole of God's creation, and surely they have a place in the Kingdom of Heaven. The short chapters discuss scriptures supporting that thought, and there is of course discussion of St. Francis of Assisi and his love of nature and animals. I also really appreciated the inclusion of three blessings for the the animals in my own life (including a comforting one for an animal who is dying or has died). I bought this for my own children, who have loved and lost pets. This would also be a nice gift of consolation for someone whose pet is ill and preparing for their final journey out of this earthly world.

not the book/edition i ordered but what the you know.
i ordered the 2018 revised version of the 2010 original print..in paperback. what i got was a hardcover (not complaining here) of the 2010 book..the 1 i ordered had the senior dog on the front . the 2010 one and the 1 i got has a puppy on the front. with the same parts of the 1st one but the one i ordered had readers comments and pics of their pets that were sent in..i was going to return this one and try to order again the 1 i tried to order in the 1st place.. but i looked through this one and it is ok, no marking except the part where it says who from and to who..it's nicely done so i'm ok with that..wanted to see readers comments and pics of loved pets but that was the main reason i ordered this book.. so anyway kept it..looks like it will be an interesting read..

I love this book
I have bought this book over and over to give as a gift to those who have recently lost their pet. It isn't a sad book. It is comforting. Even if a person has not yet experienced the death of a beloved dog, it is a good book to read to provide comfort for when the dog does pass. It gives hope.

I was surprised at how inspiring it is.
I bought this little book as a goof, but as a pet owner I was impressed. If you are struggling with the lose of a pet, this book may help.

A Very Sweet Book
I purchased this book in an attempt to find some comfort after losing my beloved dog, Brady, and this certainly provided the comfort that I needed. I especially loved the little prayers that you can say, and although we won't know for sure until we passes away, this little book gives us a lot of hope that we will see them again. It is easy to read with big letters, and has the durability of a hardcover. A very sweet book. Arrived on time.

A place for animals in heaven
The tears flowed as this book was read. The most important thing is that God has not forgotten his holy animals in heaven. There is a place for them!
