A lot better than advertised
Works really well! Super easy application. I will say the instructions say its not for textured walls and that it takes a good amount of time to set in but i have decently textured walls and had people running into it less than 24 hours after applying and it has not budged (no people were harmed) my cat loves it and keep my big dog out as well. Works for a lot of cases outside of pets too

This thing is AMAZING
Backstory: For the last year and a half we've just kept Chicken's litter box in the bathtub of our main bathroom (99% of the time we just use the 3/4 bathroom attached to our bedroom since it's just the two of us, and due to the Global Panorama it's not like we've had a lot of company that would need to use the shower in there anyway, so it's been a pretty good solution). He doesn't spray or "miss" the box at all, but he IS a digger - for which we are very grateful, because he does an excellent job at burying his poops, which definitely keeps the smell down. BUT, because he likes digging/burying so much, he often ends up with a bunch of extra/loose litter...so I sealed up the drain in the tub (Glad Press 'n Seal is good for SO much more than just leftovers in your fridge) to make sure nothing ended up in the pipes, and bam, easy peasy litter containment. HOWEVER, now that my partner and I have both received our second dose of vaccine, and my parents several states away have ALSO received both of their doses, they've decided that they're going to make the drive over and stay with us for a week or two. We're all pretty excited, because it's been over a year since we've seen each other, and eventually video chats just don't cut it anymore! We didn't really want them having to come into our bedroom to get to the bathroom to shower while they're here, so it was time to find a new home for the litterbox. The dogs are well behaved, and know the litterbox isn't for them, so we weren't concerned necessarily with that part of the relocation, but the room we decided to move it in to did have some other boxes, storage, ammunition, hunting/camping gear/supplies that we didn't want to risk them getting in to, so we started looking at cat doors/flaps for interior doors...and they were either more expensive than we wanted to spend or they required a lot more cutting/construction/installation work than we really had the time for right now. Which is why we settled on this contraption. We got two, one for the room where Chicken's new setup was going to be, and also one for our bedroom (we sleep in our birthday suits, and all three of the animals sleep with us, so while we weren't concerned about the dogs being "locked in" the room with us every night, we did want to make sure the cat could come and go as he needed to, without leaving our door wide open, because let's face it, nobody's parents want to see their adult kid and kid's partner nakey every night, so... They took all of 30 seconds to "install", and they work exactly as advertised. No clumsy or finnicky clips/latches to fight with when coming into or going out of a room. Literally just drop the pin/hook end into the receiver/hole piece to "lock" it, and lift it up/out to open it. The plastic is thick and sturdy. the strap and buckle are high quality and look pretty nice (better than plain old nylon type material). The foam piece to stop the door from being able to close completely is firm and has a nice "grip" on the door so it doesn't slide around or fall down. Overall this was an excellent buy, and I'm glad I got two of them right away. I'm also glad we didn't have to take the time to cut holes in our doors, because now if we ever need to change the location of the litterbox again in the future and we need/want to keep the cat out of that room, we still have the ability to close the door (whereas one of the more inexpensive cat flaps would have basically created a permanent entryway for him since the "cheap" options don't have locks/latches). Highly recommended!

Simple, easy, and effective
This product is genius. It’s so simple in design and so easy to use. It takes less than two minutes to install, and can fit pretty much any type of door. It’s worked great to allow my cats access to my bedroom while allowing me to still keep my door mostly closed. I like that it gives me control over how much or how little I want the door to open. The strap is nice and thick, and so far the adhesive has held firm. It still feels good and strong after a few months of daily use! Granted, I don’t have a dog that’s trying to get in — I use it for bedroom darkness at night — so I can’t vouch for how well the adhesive would stand up against a strong-willed pet. For my purposes at least, this thing has been amazing! I absolutely recommend it, and I would happily buy it again for additional rooms in the future.

Perfect to let cats in but keep dogs out!
The Door Buddy solves my problem of needing the cats to be able to access the bathroom, but not let the dogs in. It was super simple to install taking me about 3 minutes from opening package to finished! I love that it also comes with the soft foam door stopper. This not only keeps the door from shutting, but keeps it from slamming my fingers when I’m not using the latch! I plan on buying another one for my spare bedroom!

Overall a good product.
We have 2 of these. Because the door situations are different, we had to install each one differently. So, I'm glad we had that option!. The hardest part of installing these (and why I took off one star) is getting installed correctly the first time. I wish the instructions had been better in telling us how to do this. Even when the strap is as short as it will go, if not installed in the right way, a small dog could still get through the opening. We have 4 cats, but "dog sit" our "grand" dogs for a weekend or a week a few times a year. The lab will mostly leave the cat food and litter boxes alone, but the Miniature Schnauzer (not much bigger than the cats) will go after it every time. Finding the "sweet spot" where the cats can get in, but not the dog, was very challenging. I do like the "bumper" pad that keeps the door from closing completely, so cats don't get locked in or out. It did work well with a toddler boy who is into EVERYthing.

Problem solved
No complaints. I like that the strap is adjustable so I can allow my cats in but keeps my kid and dog out! Easy peasy to install. Have had no issues so far. Love that it comes with the door stopper too, so the door won’t bounce shut. Great product IMO.

Must have for multi species homes
Works like a charm. The wedge keeps the door from shutting and the latch keeps my dogs out of the cat food and litter box. Genius, and such an easy install. Careful though, I had to buy a second one because my boyfriend ripped the first off the wall 🤦🏻♀️

Love it, made baby gates obsolete in my home
This things awesome and I love it. I don’t like my dogs in my room because they get into my bed and muck it up. My room is also the cats sacred space where he can live dog-free. However, he still likes to adventure out and around the house from time to time. I like for him to have his freedom for years now I’ve used a baby gate in my bedroom doorway. It’s annoying and bulking and comes loose sometimes and the cat has to jump over it and my dogs even jump over it when they’re feeling naughty. This door latch is a gamer changer!!!!!!! I love it!!! It takes the eye-sore of the obnoxious bay gate away and looks so much sleeker. Immediately elevated the look of the entire bedroom and hallway to get rid of that dumb gate in my doorway. It’s a big enough gap for my cat to easily get in and out and for the dogs to NOT lol. I e had it up for one week and it’s held firm and sturdy. Side note: I don’t believe this would work to keep out very small dog breeds, such as a chihuahua. My dogs are big so it’s no issue. However, I do notice that on its tightest fit, it’s almost a wide enough gap for my dogs to slide their heads through. Luckily, not quiet! :)

Would be perfect if my cat could fit through
I love this product. It's easy to install. It looks clean but not distracting when installed behind the door, especially where mine is my laundry room. It works perfectly. It's sturdy. Keeps my upstairs litter box away from any dog visitors (where my dog leaves the litter be unlike the others). Except my cat doesn't fit through the opening. Not even when set to the loosest setting. Now I have two cats. One has claimed the upstairs box as his own and the other cat takes to using the boxes downstairs. Actually they both poop downstairs but only the one pees upstairs. And he's chunky. Way too chunky, and we're (just me) actively trying to work on it (I give small portions until he screams enough and I can't take it anymore). So, effectively I've locked all dogs and this cat out from his own litter box. Guess the lean guy could use it but he doesn't want to. This does keep the dog I'm pet sitting out of it so that's a plus. Anyways I highly recommend if you don't have a plus size cat.

Brilliant for keeping cats out too
I used this product to keep 2 cats out of our daughters room. I was paranoid about our cats getting into our daughters (6month old) room and looked for something that would allow me to hear her incase she got upset and would stop our cats getting in and this was ideal. I have a monitor in her room but still panicked incase it stopped working for some reason and they got in. I didn’t want my cats getting in due to them potentially sleeping next to her and her suffocating, also didnt want them putting fur in her bed when the room is open all day. It’s perfect as I could easily adjust how adjar I wanted the door to be. Although it’s relatively expensive it does the job and my child’s safety comes first.
