I have been trying to find a small robust IP camera with IR, to view the inside of an owl box in an outbuilding. On the face of it, this camera would be perfect. Small, 5Mp, infrared capacity, easy to connect. So I ordered one. Connected to my network, and almost immediately smelt a hot plastic smell, then noticed the network port was starting to melt! Unplugged everything, sent it back. Ordered a second example,plugged it in, no melting, connected to network, working nicely. Allowed darkness to fall, and guess what? No infra-red! Disconnected, sent back. After a couple of weeks searching, I couldn't find another camera that I felt would be suitable, and represented reasonable value for money. So I foolishly ordered another one of these. This time, connected to network, static picture looked good, but then, I noticed the picture constantly jumping, rather than a smooth transition between frames. Tried altering encoding, frame rates, resolution etc. with no improvement. ANY movement causes greying out on the screen and then constant jerkiness of the image. So this one is going back as well. I have learned my lesson. I hope with this review, you will too - just look elsewhere.

Camera is of good build quality, the documentation is poor, no login details supplied to log into the web interface, even after searching for answers “admin” no password does not work, “guest” does but you cannot do any config. QR code to get a mobile app downloads a completely different app as show in the documentation, you need to supply a mobile telephone number to sign up to the app except it refuses to accept any mobile number. The pc App, won’t accept the admin login no password either and just crashes when you try. It’s a shame the image quality is fine, just being unable to set the camera up and connect to a method of recording renders it a bit useless
