A unique gift
My horse-loving, artist friend, who is interested in science, loves it. One gift that touches all her areas of interest including afternoon tea is the perfect gift. It is well made. The art isn’t tacky. It is elegant.

Flawlessly beautiful
I bought this and two others as a late Christmas gift. I got to open each box to ensure no chips, cracks, (basically nit-picking) or any flaws on the cup and plate: NONE. I could not express how just several lines on the dish made an impact on the reflection onto the cup. The cup and plate were perfectly made themselves; but that added motion of the “running cat”, “flying bird”, and “running horse” is the BIG bonus. I really do suggest to anyone to purchase at least one of the sets. I will be buying some for myself in the future. Thank You to the Artist~

Absolutely one of the coolest things I have ever drunk coffee from.
This is beyond cool. I don't care what any other reviewer says, it is NOT that hard to create the galloping horse illusion by gently rotating the cup on the saucer, you just need to adjust the speed of rotation or your angle of viewing if you're not seeing it happen. I got the horse one because it reminded me of Muybridge's earliest film/motion tests of a galloping horse and then was delighted to read in the enclosed pamphlet that Muybridge was actually the artist's inspiration. I bought the original of this mug rather than a knock-off, even though it is REALLY EXPENSIVE, because original artists deserve to be supported and the amount of testing and research that went into this must have been phenomenal. It is not a cheap trick! Who cares if you have to hand wash it? Who cares if you can't microwave it? I could not be happier with this, and I have a collection of other illusion types of teacups and mugs, too. I highly recommend this as a gift for any cinematographer, animator, or film historian in your life - they will truly appreciate it.

Nice cup
The product arrived packaged in a nice box. The cup is awesome , the horse walks when moving the cup. For a better experience I need to move the cup slowly.
