How long do they take to burn in?

I've done about four to six hours in them haven't noticed any dramatic change

do they have a volume control on the cable? So if I used them live for monitoring my voice could I increase or decrease the volume as I wish?

no unfortunately they don't, I use the volume control on my battery pack for this
