I purchased to support nerves after case of shingles. I choose this for the preferred forms of b-12, folate and b-6 recommended for recovery of nerves. Taste great!While expensive, the price is cheaper as compared to getting 3 different vitamins of this quality and mg. All the forms are immediately useable by the body.About the 3 forms - GPT Chat says;B-12 (Methylcobalamin)• Active form used in the methionine synthase reaction for DNA synthesis and homocysteine metabolism.• Directly usable by the body, often preferred in supplements for neurological support.Folate (5-MTHF) – supplement form of the active folate. I had genetic testing done in 2023 that revealed I have MTHFR. My doctor said that I needed to start taking Methlated B-12 and Folate for absorption. Previously I had been on weekly B-13 injections that never seemed to help. I tried several different brands before Jarrow Formulas and none of them had a pleasant taste. This chewable is not chalky and has a great cherry taste. It stays by my bed on my nightstand and it’s the first thing I reach for in the mornings before even get out of bed. By the time I have to function as an adult, my energy level is through the roof.

I love the combo of the b-12 with the folate - two nutrients that can really impact both energy and anxiety levels. While I have no definitive way to know and it could just be a placebo effect, I do think these have improved my energy levels overall. As others have mentioned, on some days I even get a jittery level of energy as if I have had a ton of coffee. I prefer that to feeling drained though. The only downfall is that they are really sweet and do contain other ingredients like sugar alternatives which I don't love. The taste isn't bad but it is strong, similar to a children's vitamin, but overall the flavor and added sweeteners aren't necessary and take away from this product. I'd much rather take something mild tasting or even that tastes like nothing rather than have junk added to an otherwise good product. I'll likely search for something similar without the extras next time I order.

I’ve been taking Jarrow B12/folate for atleast 5 years now. When I found out I had MTHFR this seemed to be the only brand that really made me feel and see a difference. I’ve tried various other brands from naturopaths- expensive, reputable ones, but only Jarrow gives me immediate results that drastically improve my life….such as decreased irritability, usually within 45 min., and it helps my hair loss. I know I’m low on B12/folate when I start losing hair in the shower…this gives me tons of regrowth too.When you have MTHFR you have to figure out the dosage that is right for you- too much can make you feel irritable or unwell…and too little may not show improvements. So I’ve vacillated between the dosages. My kids take the lower dose 1,000. It helps my child with irritability as well.And one major positive is that they taste good (both 5000 and 1000 versions), so it’s easy for everyone to remember and want to take this- which is a huge help with children!

My primary care physician recommended this brand for a specific reason. I have consistently improved. So for me they have been effective. I didn’t let them dissolve in my mouth. I chewed them. The flavor is a mild cherry and is quite good.
