Did the job, great for smaller projects, Very very low Dusting
Basically they did what they were supposed to do. they cut around 12 boards for me 1/4in thick Hardie fiber cement siding, very very little dust. made the cuts fairly clean. Best thing is there was no dust. I would recommend for smaller projects for siding, patch work or small installs. If you have to do an entire home...then no. But fact is the dust from fiber cement siding is NO GOOD for you. These keep the dust to a point that if you cut outside you wont need a mask..but I would wear 1 anyways. The only thing I would say is as you cut the siding that its snipping off tends to roll up and it blocks the line you drew to cut on becuz there is nothing to make it curl off the the side like a small guide you may see on more expensive fiber board sheers. this is a little annoying but can be worked around, for the price Its great. I plan of just making a small part to guide the shavings out of my way and attach to the sheers. But they did the work and were very cost effective

These thing works !!
Bought this to fix a mistake (bought to long) with some ridged galvanized roofing sheet metal. I figured for the price of this. It was cheaper than returning the metal and wasting diesel fuel.I decided to test this thing out against some of the comments of negativity.I drew a straight line on the metal with a marker. It DOES cut straight!! However if YOU the operator can't push straight. You're not going to get a straight cut.It will cut over a single ridge. This is where the swivel head comes in handy. Just rotate it 45 degs so you can push down and forward while cutting the ridge. However it will not cut thru a double ridge. Which I kinda knew it wouldn't. So I carried a grinder w/ a cut off wheel.I had 10ft of over lapped at the double ridge sheet metal to cut. Took me about 5-10 minutes. Most of that was moving the ladder and switching out the shear for a grinder. These electric shears are well worth it vs some aviator shears. If you have some detailed cuts to make.Test it out on some scrap metal 1st. So you know how hard you have to push and how much tension to apply to the trigger.

Works reasonably well for the price
The WEN metal shear is priced comparable to most other brands. I used it to cut steel panels for a post frame building. It did the job well.I could recommend two product improvements that would get it close to 5 stars: 1) The cord exits the handle straight down and interferes with getting the cutting head at the correct angle. I realize the head can rotate, but having the cord exit rearward instead of downward would make tool positioning easier. 2) The shear is capable of running way faster than it needs to. A reduction gear to slow it down and get finer slow speed control would be an improvement. For smaller jobs this tool works well, but I wouldn’t recommend it for daily professional use.

Nice, heavy duty tool at a great price
This is an excellent tool. I bought it to cut steel roofing, which has ridges and is fairly thick. Needed something to follow my guideline as well as handle the ridges ok. After reading other reviews I decided to try it.Very nice results. This tool was significantly cheaper than the same version sold by Harbor Freight. And it shipped quickly and efficiently and was in my hands the next day. Since I live in small town west Florida, that’s unusual. I pulled it out of the box, read the brief directions and put it to work. 45 minutes and 8 nice straight cuts later, I came inside to cool off, drink some cold water and share my experience.I’m about to put metal siding on my shop. This will be perfect.

better than cutting by hand
so far so good. Have used it 3 times and it zips through metal pretty easily. Even corrugated/ ribbed sheets of metal are no problems. Much faster than the hand shears I've used for decades. I chose a corded model over a different cordless one even though much of my work is on roofs- I'd rather not have the battery die & have to take time to swap it out. Only used it a few weeks but it's a great time saver so far. Shipper got it to me very fast.

Worked like a charm.
Had never used cement board siding on any project. Purchased this WEN Shear because I had a couple hundred linear feet of cuts to make and had heard saw blades wear quickly and produce a lot of dust. This shear worked flawlessly, cutting through the board faster than I thought it would. The cut edge it produced was clean and the process was virtually dust-free. Also, it is a lot quieter than a saw.All of these type to shears produce thin coils of waste (chips) as you cut which requires you to constantly brush out of the way as you go, but clean up is as simple as sweeping them off the floor when you're done.Overall, very satisfied with this tool. I am not highly skilled at this type of work, but found it to work great and it was simple to use. Highly recommended.

Nice Shear
Cuts flat metal like a "hot knife through butter." Cutting raised/ridged metal sheets is another matter. At times, I put the electric shears down and had to finish the cut with hand shears to get around the bends in the metal.
