TempDip 1 Sec Digital Candy Thermometer with Pot Clip & 10" Probe

The TempPro thermometer worked exactly as expected. The display is easy to read, responded quickly, and made it simple to monitor temperatures while making homemade marshmallows. The long probe kept my hands safely away from hot syrup, and the included pot clip is a nice bonus for hands-free use. Accurate, easy to use, and a great value for baking, candy making, and cooking. Excellent Quality — Especially the Clip! After using my candy thermometer for the first time to monitor the temperature of the oil while cooking fried chicken, I quickly realized how important the quality of the clip is. A thermometer is only useful if it can stay securely in place on the pot or pan. After purchasing this one, I was thoroughly impressed with the quality of the entire product, but especially the clip. It attaches securely, stays exactly where I put it, and works without any effort or fuss. It’s well made, easy to use, and does exactly what it’s supposed to do. A definite recommendation!

This thermometer worked perfectly for checking the temperature of a turkey while deep frying. The display is easy to switch between degrees F & C, the metal probe is 8” long and the thermometer comes with an AAA battery- no button batteries. But the most important thing for me was to check the temperature accuracy. Before using the thermometer, I checked what it read when the probe was resting in a kettle of boiling water. Water boils at 100 degrees C. The thermometer read 100.5 C, but the tip of the metal probe was resting on the bottom of the kettle, so I figure that’s where the extra 0.5 C came from. Good enough. When the deepest part of the turkey breast and thigh read at or above 165 degrees F, I pulled the turkey out of the oil and we found the turkey to be cooked perfectly at dinner time. I would highly recommend this thermometer because it’s accurate, easy to use, easy to change the battery (battery door has a sturdy locking tab so no tiny screwdriver is necessary), easy the clean the probe. Mine probably won’t get frequent use outside of deep frying turkey or cooking larger pieces of meat, so I removed the battery before placing everything back in the box for the next use.

I cannot say enough good things about this thermometer! I make a lot of different candies and goodies for Christmas and have gone through several different types of thermometers over the years, with none of them working good. This thermometer is extra-long, which is perfect for making boiling hot candy. It clips on securely onto the side of any pot while also angling the electronics away from any hot steam. It is able to quickly read the temperature so you're not standing there for several minutes while it "thinks." I have never had any issues cleaning it, even when making hard candy. In all my years of baking and candy making, this is the only thermometer I will ever use again!

I love this thermometer! It is accurate, easy to read and use. The ONLY issue I have is the pot clip. The way the clip holds the thermometer, it has it close to the side of the pot which does not give a "average, reliable" temperature of the contents in the pot. Typically, the contents of the pot are "cooler" around the outer edge, and "hotter" in the center. This clip doesn't allow for angling of the thermometer towards the middle area around the contents of the pot. I've used it for frying foods, and candy making too. And for hard candy making it is important to have a pretty accurate "average" temperature. I hope TempPro fixes the clip from having one hole in the clip to various holes to accommodate this issue. Outside of that issue, it's an excellent product!

Works wonderfully in my 12qt pot it is perfect and it also works in my 20qt pot when I am making a large batch of jam. The 10" shaft is perfect for the 12qt but kind of short in the 20qt pot it has a very clear display and the light touch spot on the top is amazing 🤩 you can just bump it and the backlight comes on. It is very fast on the fluctuations in the jam making process. I highly recommend this if you need a nice instant read thermometer

I was a bit wary of a digital gadget, but this has been working well so far. Makes it really easy to test if meat is done, and I made caramel with it one night as well.

This is an excellent digital candy thermometer. It has large numbers that you can see without any problem. There is a light that lights up the numbers but it only stays on for 15 seconds. I wish it stayed on longer. You can turn it on again with the button, but you need to know where the button is by feel. Also when you turn the light on, your hand it directly over the burner. It can get very hot. It has a tilt head so that you can put it at a good angle so you can read it without problems. The directs are not very helpful. I had to figure most of it out on my own. You have to squeeze the clip to get the probe in the holes. Unless I missed it, the directions don't tell me this. It also doesn't say how close to the bottom of the pan it should be.
