Perfect small chicken book for breed info
Great book with nice pictures. We were looking for a book that had pictures of hens because most books display the roosters and let's be honest, they do not look that similar. Especially for a kid who is trying to learn about the differences in comb types. (Shes in 4H and doing chickens this year.) This book is perfect. It's not too big and overwhelming and gives her just enough info to keep her interested. Plus. She can take this to county fair with her to help identify breeds she may be unfamiliar with. It's a great size.

Great pictures with some info.
The pictures are great. Like a candy store for chickens. Some brief notes about each, but you would probably need to look up more information if really buying. Sometime with a new project, simple is best.

Does not stand the test of time
This book was somewhat informative and is good for a quick pocket guide. My kiddo enjoyed taking it with him to farm swaps and identifying bird breeds. Unfortunately it hasn't held up over time. He got it for Christmas; it is now mid-May and the binding is completely falling apart and the pages are falling out. My son is also not thrilled that this book makes little or no mention of the colored eggs the birds lay. Overall I wouldn't purchase this again or recommend it; there are more detailed books out there.

I'm already a chicken enthusiast so now when my friends send me chicken memes I can now tell them what breed of chicken it is, what it is most commonly used for, and where it originates from. Now I have zero friends and infinite chicken knowledge.

Disappointed
While I was looking for a poultry identification book, this book did not fit the bill. While a photo was provided for each of the birds briefly described, there were no photos of the different color variants for the breed. In some cases only a close up of the bird was provided. Very little description was provided on breed attributes, including egg color.

Waste of money
The book is very simple, not much info about breeds. Better look at Wikipedia then buying this book.
