I received & it is expired 6 months ago, why do they sell this?

I Don't know. It used to make my sister-in-laws hair real white and pretty but I did notice that lately it's been sorta purplish blue sometimes. I figured she didn't rinse it enough. Now I wonder about the expiration date...
