18-50mm F2.8 DC DN Contemporary DSLR Camera Lens for Sony E Mirrorless Cameras (585965, Black)

Sigma 18-50 f2.8 is an awesome lens. Thanks to Clicktech retail pvt. Ltd. who delivered a new untouched lens that was imported in July 26. The lens is very sharp throughout its focal length and it is due to 2.8 all the way from 18-50mm. Low light performance and sharpness is better than Sony kit lens. Although there’s not any IBIS in a6400 and steady shot option may freeze with third party lens yet the tracking and autofocus is superb and smooth. No issues with photographs, yet there could be jitters with the videos. Sometime videos with manageable shake gives better feel and does not make a huge difference if not a vlogger. A gimble might solve the problem. Good bokeh with portraits and awesomely light weight. The lens feels exceptionally good and my new companion for travel photography.

I own the Sigma trio (16mm F/1.4, 30mm F/1.4, 56mm F/1.4) and they're all excellent fast lenses but it's a pain to carry all three with you and switch between them all the time when you're out travelling and don't have the time to do all that. If you'd rather carry just one versatile lens and don't expect it to be razer sharp like prime lenses and don't expect to pay a bomb for it, then this is the best lens money can buy for Sony APS-C sensor cameras right now. Tamron is maybe a close second, but their 17-70mm F/2.8 is much larger and heavier (although it does have vibration compensation) and not to mention, considerably more expensive (around 15K more) Sure, the 18-50mm F/2.8 DC DN doesn't have any sort of camera/hand shake compensation but that's a small price to pay (especially if you have a in-body stabilized camera like the A6600 or have a gimbal or use a tripod). Some stabilization would've been nice but then the lens wouldn't have been this ultra portable in size, super light weight and just a breeze to work with. EDIT 26-Feb-2022: I added a video of the Sigma 18-50mm lens + Sony A6400 perfectly balanced on a Ronin SC gimbal. Since the entire setup is so light, balancing this on the gimbal was completely effortless. You can probably balance a lot more (mic + a small light) with this setup. Vortex/360 mode was also super smooth with this combo balanced on the SC. Image quality wise, it's F/2.8 so it's not the fastest lens out there but it's way better than the competition, especially for a zoom lens. Images are STILL tack sharp in many cases, even in low light and even at the widest aperture. There's some noticeable chromatic aberration but nothing that can't be explained away as artistic expression. Lol. I'm still going through this lens and will be taking it with me on several trips and add more photos to this review in time but since I'm cooped up at home right this moment, I don't have a lot more to say at this point. All things considered, Sigma didn't disappoint, not one bit. They make superior lenses that are sharper and faster and cost less than their competition. What's not to like about that? NOTE: All photos of the Sony WF-1000XM4 were taken using the Sigma 18-50mm at 50mm using a Sony A6400. More/different photos to come later. The Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 DC DN Contemporary is an excellent lens for Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras. Its bright f/2.8 aperture and versatile zoom range make it perfect for vlogging, travel, and everyday shooting. The image quality is sharp and colors are rich, and autofocus is smooth and reliable. Overall, it’s a fantastic all-around lens that elevates both video and photo content.

The Sigma 18–50mm f/2.8 DC DN is a huge upgrade over my kit lens. The sharpness is immediately noticeable, and the overall clarity and color rendering are excellent. The constant f/2.8 aperture performs beautifully in low light and gives smooth background blur. It’s compact, fast, and delivers professional-quality results.

Completely Satisfied with it. Used it on my A6400 for almost 2 months (family events and a trip) and here are pros and cons of the lens- PROS 1. Size - This is no 1 reason for which one should consider buying this. Its pretty small, which means it can be always carried unlike bigger lens which creates mental hindrance while going out. 2. Its fast, a constant f2.8 aperture is pretty fast for most of the work. And because of this, for photos lack of stabilization doesn't hurt. 3. Its sharpness is insane for a lens of this price and size. I know there are sharper lens available, but then those comes at a much higher price and weight. CONS: 1. Lack of Image Stabilization for videos - For videos, use it on stablised bodies like A6600.

Ein kleiner Punkt, der oft erwähnt wird (und stimmt): Zoom- und Fokusring sehen sehr ähnlich aus, da das Design so schlicht gehalten ist. Anfangs greift man evtl. mal daneben – aber ganz ehrlich: Nach 2–3 Einsätzen weiß die Hand ganz automatisch, wo’s langgeht. Weitere Pluspunkte: • Innenzoom – das Objektiv fährt beim Zoomen nicht aus. For the price it is really good! The quality of images is amazing but don’t expect supreme bokeh if shooting portraits. The autofocus is great along with being very versatile.

I’m very satisfied with this 18-50mm f/2.8 lens. It’s an authentic product, brand new with a full box, and everything arrived in perfect condition. The packaging was very careful and secure, and the delivery was impressively fast. Overall, a great buying experience
